Andy do you think "The Drop" will be released (or a public Beta will be available) this month?

That's a big part of why I'll be glad to see The Drop released - it will bring us one step closer to "next-gen" Cytomic synths (The Drop will of course be very useful in its own right too!).Aiyn wrote:If you make a synth with all the same principles... I will be unhappy, as I don't think there truly will be a difference anymore between analog and digital and it will be so hard to tell the difference we will all feel deflated about paying so much for an analog synth.. hehe

There is some good news and some bad news.
Good news: I've managed to model a transistor core Sallen Key Filter (SKF), which is the same structure used in the MS20 revision 1. The model wasn't the hard bit, but getting it optimised enough for practical use was very difficult, but it sounded so good I just couldn't stop working on it to get it done.
Warning: high frequency sweeps!!!

Bad news: The Drop won't be released in December. I'm now aiming for mid March, which is very certain. I really didn't manage my time properly with taking on the AAX work as well as a few other things, so I'm really sorry for not making the deadline I set.
More good news: I've just finished work on the LFO section and it has come together very nicely. You can smoothly morph between all the shapes, and even when you tweak out it will auto retrigger and sync to bpm in very music ways.

Hahahahahaha has dragged on a little now hasn't it hahahahahighkoo wrote:Geez, that seems a fair question.Nig wrote:Do you think we will still get a december release?
It has been six months, and ten pages, and there is no release date?
No offense, but my interest in this has waxed and waned five times over. And I use Glue five times a day....
Maybe a rethink on announcements next time lol

You realize Andy wrote most of DCAM: Synth Squad, right? It's already hard to tell the difference between those instruments and an analog.Aiyn wrote:Listening to the demo's this is the most analogue sounding filter I have ever heard from a digital source.
