Being able to record virtual MIDI from SoundPrism Pro and PolyChord into a real iOS sequencer app has been high on my wish list for quite some time. It seems this is now possible.

I am finding Beatmaker 2 to be VERY hard to navigate and figure out. Meteor is much easier so far.

Thats because BM2 is the most full featured music software on iOS. Of course it is harder to use than a simple beat machine, and if you don't need the power then it's probably not for you....Karmacomposer wrote:I am finding Beatmaker 2 to be VERY hard to navigate and figure out. This is awesome! Nanostudio 1.3 update for iPad and Beatmaker 2.2 released in the same week. Those apps and the synth apps like AnaMoog, NLog, Addictive Synth and Sunrizer makes it worth owning an iPad.

Uh, actually, if you looked at Meteor, you would notice that it is NOT a beatbox, but a full fledged DAW - far beyond almost any other ipad app.
However, what I was referring to was Beatmaker 2's over-complex way of navigating from one thing to another - as well as finding out how to get MIDI working properly.
Are you always this nice, or did you do that just for me?

Thanx for bringing up Meteor.
It looks very interesting so far judging from descripzion and video. I only wished one could demo such apps.

For audio I use Multitrack DAW, but Meteor is much the same.
Meteor does have midi editing, but only through in app purchases. And it gets rather expensive considering the base app is already $20. So to get it close to the functuality of BM2 or Nanostudio will set yo back quite a bit.
Meteor is a great app. If I didn't already own Multitrack DAW, I would get it for audio.
I'm not being mean, just stating the facts.
EDIT: Fixed, thanks IncarnateX for pointing out how confusing what I had written was

Agree, we all get a bit of a Christmas present.Artmuzz wrote:This is awesome! Nanostudio 1.3 update for iPad and Beatmaker 2.2 released in the same week. Those apps and the synth apps like AnaMoog, NLog, Addictive Synth and Sunrizer makes it worth owning an iPad.
Now that Nanostudio is finally iPad ready, I am getting into it. To me it's power comes from it's native synth, and it's rock solid performance.
BM2 update is amazing, keeping them at the "cutting edge" of iOS music apps. But, I have a lot of problems with the virtual MIDI thing. I tried it with Genome for several months now, and find it to be a PITA. BM2 seems a little better, but the VM standard needs improving IMHO.

I guess you mean that Multitrack is not an iPad app and has no midi editing? Because Meteor is and has midi editing. Just to get it right for potential newbies.Dewaine wrote:For audio I use Multitrack DAW, but Meteor is much the same.
Be aware that Meteor is not an iPad app, and is simply a audio recording app. Like Garageband, it does not have MIDI editing.

You do have to pay $7.99 extra for MIDI editing in Meteor, and then there are a ton more IAPs for $1.99 to $14.99.
But you're right, the other poster must have been referring to Multitrack DAW (which DOES run natively on iPad, just to be clear)

I own every DAW and most loop sequencers for iPad and Meteor is my hands down favorite. It is powerful, easy to use and has almost every feature I need to do mobile and in-studio recording if I choose to simply use my iPad2.
Mostly, I use iPad synths attached to my midi master keyboard - you would swear you are NOT using an iPad is I hid the iPad. Great for drums too - with iElectribe and iKaoss - NICE! Molten drum machine is also AWESOME.
Yes, I invested a bunch of money - hundreds TBH - in iPad music apps, but now I can go and seriously create music with a wide variety of sounds and options.

I got Meteor working using midi bridge, I'm not sure if you can do it without.
