No unfortunately. That makes BM2 the King at present because it has all now, apart from audio tracks.jbone1313 wrote:Does Meteor support running its audio whilst running in the background?

I can successfully sequence sunrizer, thumbjam and modrum from bm2, which is great.
Nevertheless, how useful can such a stunning feature be without the ability to record the whole thing as audio.
Have been on a frantic quest forr a total recorder kind of app but so far haven't found any.

I could swear that Meteor could run in the background and record other instruments that are in the background.
I truly wish the iPad could multitask.

And this is the real issue with iOS music making at this stage in the game. It's not BM2's fault, but simply the state of the still infant iOS format. Apple is working on bringing AU's (Audio Units, Mac version of VST) to iOS. When that happens, and sequencers adapt it, it will be amazing.nzimas wrote:I can successfully sequence sunrizer, thumbjam and modrum from bm2, which is great.

Remember, we are in the infancy of a whole new way of working. It will take time, but it will mature.
Until then, it's fun to make tunes on iOS, but for me it can't touch the ease and power of Logic (or any of the computer sequencers).

Ok, a clarification then:Karmacomposer wrote:I could swear that Meteor could run in the background and record other instruments that are in the background.
1) Meteor can not run in the background. Try loading a project and start it, then close the app and the audio will stop.
2) Meteor does allow other synths run to in the background when Meteor is open and you for instance control the synths by Meteor's midi tracks. However as soon as you close Meteor the midi tracks stops sending to the synth.
3) Meteor can not record synths that run in the background. That would be groundbreaking at the present state of the art. I surely wish they would implement such a feature in a near future on all iOS Daws.
Cheers

Thanks for all the feedback.
I guess that all that is left is to connect the iPad's headphones jack / audio out to me laptop mic in and have Reaper or Total recorder capturing the signal.
Kinda primitive and not too clean, but how else could this be done?

If you mean record audio, then no. But it records the midi, right? BM2 does.IncarnateX wrote:Karmacomposer wrote:

Nope. Neither audio nor midi. Since you cannot run Meteor in the background, you cannot play a synth while Meteor records it's midi. What you can do is running the synth in the background while Meteor is open, but then you cannot use the synth's interface.Insaniac wrote:If you mean record audio, then no.
