Back in August they announced the release of v4 of their plugin and I bit. Now 4 months on they are sending through emails of products already purchased at a discount at a much lower price. Great nice move ... rub faeces in my nose why dont you?!

Seems I'm also stupid. I also paid for a upgrade to Spectralive V4 in August.
Something like a release in 2 weeks. Now I've send several emails to this company, but no answer. No update til now !
No more money from me to crysonic !

I find it a bit odd really. I know they had some issues with the protection side of the software that has more or less just been sorted judging by the email I got. They said they were sending links out soon. We'll see I guess.

I don't understand why people keep pre-paying some random company, as I can't even think of a single (trusted) one I would pay in advance for some yet non-existing product or update. Most don't have to ask the user for something like that, which should tell you something about the company's status.

At least the Crysonic plugins aren't C/R. They actually use the T/R protection scheme. Meaning they take your money and run before you even get the product so there is no need to protect it because you won't be getting it anyway.

I was just thinking...ok, I have no expereince with these guys, so can't comment on whether claims that they literally take money without providing a product are true. But if they are -- I mean, if this can be documented -- why are they not banned from KVR? After all, that's what happens (deservedly) to warez kiddies.... Theft is theft, right?

Why aren't these guys being sued is what I'm wondering. It's a scam. If people can't see that then I'm not sure if I should even be feeling sorry for them.

Why they haven't been banned and removed from KvR is making me a bit sad. I hope Ben takes action at some point.

I suckered for the pre-order of Spectralive 4 in August and am still waiting. He does not answer any e-mails. he has also taken the address of his company off of his website. I was going to report him to the Australian better biz people. Anyone who has that address that was once displayed at the bottom of every page please PM me here. Also PM your contact information if you have paid and not received product. I am laboriously working my way to a real person at PayPal to see about freezing his account until he provides this plugin that we paid for or a refund.

He has not responded to any inquiries apart from saying the pre-order deal was for previous customers and the current special bundle e-mail that says the product is released and we should check our e-mail for a download link. There is no download link.

I also suggest that we all write to every blog and website that posts his news releases about his special sales..

MODERATOR -- with all due respect, I would ask you, in light of these allegations, to at least investigate a bit and then assess whether the developer should be permitted to have a current thread in the Market Place sub-forum. I can imagine that people making the allegations here would be willing to provide copies of emails, payment transaction records etc for your review. As it stands, if the developer is in fact dodgy (again, I have no expereince so can't say either way), that Market Thread post, if it is permitted to remain at all, or at least to remain without some flag alerting people to this thread, is like a potential venus flytrap.
