Thanks to whoever pointed to the Plughugger site. I loved the tutorial about making your own presets with Nexus. I've been experimenting with this.
What is the official position on unofficial presets? Will they work on the new version?
I've found a few that are quite good, but once in a while there's a preset that will cause Nexus to freak out and say it doesn't recognize the preset and has muted itself. I've made very sure these aren't warez and they are all in .fxp format.

Post

those will still work in 2.3.0 from what I have seen.
Finally!

There was one, posted before the update was out.

Haven't looked for it, so here is an unofficial list from the v forums:

* 64-bit
* new GUI
* GUI zoomable (50%, 75%, 100%, 150%, 200%)
* two new FX-slots (placed after the Arts Acoustic Reverb)
* new Limiter slot
* New Insert-FX: Limiter
* New Insert-FX: Talkbox
* enhanced Mod-Matrix
* improved loading times for presets
Finally!

I also wish I could turn off that cheesy hard drive loading animation when I am loading a patch.

You can resize the preset lettering by turning the TINY screw on the top left of the preset browser. It's very hard and doesn;t turn easily.

Post

u sure? I thought you can by clicking on the three bars after the category name. Turning that screw changes the contrast and brightness of the central area.

Sorry, you're right. I just discovered both last night.

I just want to add that people who say Nexus is just a preset player doesn't know what they are talking about, and the filters on this thing are AMAZING. I've tried to choke it, to overload it, I've rung it through the ringer and it's rock solid.
Also, the dongle is a non-issue. It's like a nice little red nightlight in my USB port.

New Features in 2.3.0

Changes

New photorealistic GUI. Same familiar layout. New look. All
skins will be re-released in this new look free of charge to
existing customers of the respective skins within the next
few weeks. Old skins do not work anymore.

Two new "master"-FX slots (post-master-reverb).
New insert FX: Talkbox
New insert FX: Limiter
New limiter-slot.
Internal features for the new expansions.
New preset-format. Nexus 2.3.0 can read ALL Nexus presets/
projects, but older versions can't read Nexus 2.3.0 presets/
projects.

64-bit versions for Mac OS X and Windows.
Performance optimizations.

:D

Presets do seem to load slightly faster (the older ones anyway). The newer presets always take longer though. If those are faster, it's marginal on my machine. Good update though and thanks very much for posting the new features here.

Resizing is now ignored - ie go to the back panel, select 150%, return to front panel, close and re-open GUI - it's 100%. Back panel also now says 100%.
Live 8.7.2, Logic 9.1.6
