My thought's exactly! I also thought "why have they turned Rob Papens Blue upside down?"zerocrossing wrote:You're kidding right? It's... blue and white with black buttons...JD Gaffe wrote:That's probably one of my favorite UI's I've ever seen in terms of pure aesthetic reasons. Great use of color.
Fxpansion have a NEW drum synth on the way!

BERFAB - Geist killing Halion - I had the same thing reported with BFD2, and we managed to fix it. I'll pass that on to Paul.

That is good news. I really like using both programs and would love to be able to use them together again.SKoT_FX wrote:BERFAB - Geist killing Halion - I had the same thing reported with BFD2, and we managed to fix it. I'll pass that on to Paul.
Just so you have all the specs, I'm running the latest Cubase 6 x64 on a Dell XPS Win 7 with Native Instruments' Komplete Audio 6.
Please keep me posted.
Cheers

Geist is on a special holiday sale, they haven't halved the price.munchkin wrote:Has anyone mentioned Groove Machine?

I demoed Geist but at the time it was ridiculously expensive. Then Groove Machine came along...
My guess is that FXpansion realised that they needed to be a lot more competitive and better at packaging the goods hence the new, much cheaper, better designed, drum sequencer.
I see they've halved the price of Geist - glad I wasn't tempted and got Groove Machine instead but will look at their new offering when it's released.
OT - BTW, does anyone use DCAM and do they rate it compared to the competition? I have a lot of synths so I wondered if it offered anything different. I'll try the demo too.
You havent said what was wrong with Geist besides the price, and once they
put it on sale you criticize that too. lol
How can you say the new drum machine is better designed when it hasnt even been released?
Groove Machine doesnt have nearly the same functionality as Geist.

Maybe munchkin finds Groovemachine easier to work with or something. But I really cant imagine it coming close to Geist (for me anyway) when it comes to just how precise you can be when creating beats & rhythms. My girlfriend bought me the upgrade from Guru to Geist last Christmas & I'm still amazed at how easy it is to come up with great beats, with such an easy workflow too. I just bought the SkiRise Dubstep expansion pack for the special offer price of £11, an absolute steal at that price IMHO.knobs wrote:Geist is on a special holiday sale, they haven't halved the price.munchkin wrote:Has anyone mentioned Groove Machine?

i made a few presets for this!
its not like any soft drum synth i have ever seen!
if you know how to use Synth Squad then you should be able to easily pick up Tremor (same modulation setup)
i think the demo will bring a few of the nay slayers over to a yay! (if they releases a demo! FYI i have no info other than i made presets for it)
they may even leave them out!

Yes. The approach is a bit different to other drum synths I've used, but it works really well.atukao wrote:A question for anyone who has used this: can Tremor synthesise cymbal and metallic sounds in addition to a drum membrane?

That is *all* Tremor btw. Even the basslines/melodies and what not.
