It wasn't really a question.
Know what? You really start getting on my nerves with your 100% idiotic remarks. You don't seem to be able to think properly. Are you, by any chance, completely brainless?

Hey as you created this topic could you put this text to the beginning of it? It would increase the changes that after ICS we get a better android release :)

IF YOU WANT AUDIO AND MUSIC APPLICATIONS FOR ANDROID PLEASE EXPRESS YOURSELF AND VOTE BY GOING TO THE FOLLOWING TOPIC AND CLICKING THE STAR IN THE UPPERLEFT CORNER:

This will rise the imporance of the issue and maybe eventually Android developers will do something about it.

Good suggestion, golemus. 'Tis done.

The argument about you complaining about old hardware?
Oh... My bad.

Which "old" hardware exactly? And when have I been complaining about it?

No, it's like having one idiot taking part in something that isn't even a discussion.

Oh well, this thread is destined to be locked due to your incessant bickering.

Quite a pity, IMO, 'cause I think this pretty young forum have done remarkably well with respect to avoiding the lock. Most threads serve our unified interests for mobile music making with important info, tips and tricks. Could be cool if it could stay this way.

I don't know if you see this but it is pretty interesting post about how there is serious flaws in the architecture of android (especially associated with graphics).

Could the same reasons be also the cause for audio problems? Anyway does not seem something to be fixed unless Google makes very big changes to android (and creates sepparate legacy support for old Android applications).

Post

Thanks to the last poster for that link. Sheds some very clear light on the issues preventing android from doing anything serious, and flaws in the OS progression that have probably led to core audio issues being overlooked, or hard to alter.

Its a great shame, I'd like an android touchpad device over an ipod, but one of the main appeals would be for touchscreen audio applications, sure some might be like toys, but others really aren't. But even those with less serious uses, a tabla app, for instance, would give me far more pleasure, and be infinitely less of a waste of time, than angry birds.

Whether or not the debate on if someone has managed to get low latency or not via some method (which seems to have indeed dominated this thread), low latency is needed out of the box for Android. The thread reminds me of a return to win98 and attempting low latency audio without clicks a d pops etc, this is 2012 (near as dammit!) it should not even be an issue. But without this there is no way I would invest in an android tablet.

As for locking the thread, this is one of the best threads or articles I've found on the issue, the arguments are annoying, but only that, hopefully this thread will evolve till andriod audio is fixed!

The same could be said of modern gamers needs, high power 3D graphics and number crunching, large hi res displays. What are Apple/Google doing about that? Theres no point in trying to make one new device good for everything. Thats what PCs/Macs are about. Even in that case it requires specialist knowledge. There are music apps for Playstation, NDS and Xbox but no one is saying that those devices should have low latency audio. There are games consoles and there are specific audio devices for our usage too. I think its more a case of accepting that although you can make music on just about anything, there are easier/cheaper/better methods. Android/Google arnt aiming at our market, its very small.

Well not really, the more extreme gaming needs require some extra grunt or hardware to be specifically added. low latency audio these days doesn't require anything particularly special at all, its seems more a matter of just doing things right as opposed to having to add any specific features.

I think too that whilst games consoles are not so suitable for music making or production, each having physical limitations that make them unsuitable imho for many common creation tasks a pc/mac might undertake, tablets are highly suitable. Multitouch, size and portability make them ideal for many studio uses; mixers, effect simulators, virtual instruments. Its far easier to actual raise a fader on a good touchscreen device than it is via mouse on a pc or mac, and the fact you could raise and lower several independently and simultaneously, is clearly highly advantageous. And whilst Android don't seem to be aiming at our market, neither do Apple specifically. The number of audio applications for Apple is high because developers can make them work well with the system, and audio latency is naturally low because the os has simply been better designed. There is no advantage or need to having audio so badly implemented, there is not anything extra that needs to be added. Its more that its currently just a bit broken..
