While this product launch is great and all, forgive me my disappointment for not reading about the rolling out of Sampletank x64 or [heaven forbid] Sampletank 3.

Any chance that your flagship product might see an update into the 21st century anytime soon?

We are constantly working on SampleTank 3 to bring it to you with all the features everyone has been asking for. A lot of the new sounds and features found in SampleTank iOS are taken directly from the upcoming SampleTank 3.

SampleTank's sounds are really great and you could use them in a live performance ( you'd have 4 different instruments on different midi channels at your disposal), but please provide SampleTank with a minimum of midi implementation, at least the recognition of midi volume (cc7) and program change messages on each channel

These are the types of feature requests our developers would love to see in our new IK Mobile Music Forum.

I am currently using Sampletank on my iPad2, and am able to control it in Geo Synthesizer with Midi Bridge. It works great, sounds geat, and opens up a lot of possibilities when you can use a controller on the ipad (like Geo Synthesizer, SoundPrism, etc). It would be nice if it would support Virtual MIDI, so that you didn't need a program like Midi Bridge, but all the same, it's a really great app and I look forward to seeing what comes next.

I hope someone from ikmultimedia read this.

I bought irig MIDI , sampletank and garageband. First everything worked perfect, good sound, no latency (also with the 48 bonos instruments for irig MIDI users).

Then I upgraded my sampletank free to the full sampletank version. From now on, I always here audio distortion when I play on my keyboard, more then 5 notes. It happens only with sampletank, not with garageband!

I changed all possibilities of settings (low latency, ultra low latency, layer on/off, backround on/off) but nothing helped.

So now, sampletank is useless for me!
Could I delete sampletank from my iphone (3GS, iOS 5.0.1)and from my PC, download it again from the app shop or do I lose the upgrated sounds?
Strange is, that everything worked perfect before I got the upgrade.

Is it a known problem?

As long as it is from the same iTunes account it won't charge you twice if you click on "purchase". As for your distortion issue, please contact out support.

Hi,
I heard audio clicks and pops when Iplayed with the irigMIDI and sampletank for iphone.

Now I found a solution which helped in my case (iphone 3GS and irig MIDI). I bought the app "iputzfrau", but also similiar memory cleaner app should help. The app gives hidden memory free.
Since then I never heard distortion or clicks again when I played on my keyboard.

The iphone 3GS has less memory then the newer versions which can make problems. In those cases memory apps can help!!!

You guys have just taken over the iOS game, the sounds in this bad boy are amazing, and the GUI and drum pads put it over every ipad sequencer available. Amazing how fast this update came online after the first version! Please add these features in the next update...

As soon as they bring Virtual Midi I'll buy it... but right now I've got tons of high quality Samples in my computer, so...
I'd need these samples to use internally on my iPad...

Just updated last night. Looks great on the iPad now and the audio distortion on an Alesis IO Dock is fixed. Very happy for that.

There have been a few behavior changes that I don't fully understand. Most notably, the audio banks used to each be assigned to a different midi channel by default. Now, it appears that all the banks are defaulted to channel 1 and you have to change them. I'm not sure what the rationale behind that would be.

Also, when running in the background, you have to make sure that each part is actually selected in order for it to pick up. Strange...

The drum pads are a great addition, as is the recording feature, though it seems like it's fairly limited. Haven't played with trying to import midi yet. Maybe that will help.

My wishlist for future updates:

Virtual Midi

The ability to save imported midi as patterns

The ability to change the number of bars for count-in (echoing what someone else said).

Audio copy/paste would be great too. I think that would take it from being a good performance tool to something any serious ipad recording setup would want.

Anyways, it's definitely a worthy update, and still a great app.

Wow, great update! I've been waiting for the universal update to buy it for my iPad.. Any chance that there will be a holiday sale, or at least bring back the intro price?

One small issue.. It looks like several of the free instruments no longer work in the free version. They still say FREE in the browser, but the keyboard stays grayed out when they're selected. Acoustic Heaven is one example.

The "Acoustic Heaven" guitar instrument is free, but it is part of the Registration Sound Pack. You have to register your app, then this one along with three others get instantly unlocked. Simply register your app, and you'll have access to these immediately. If you have an iRig MIDI -- the perfect companion to SampleTank -- register that as well, and you'll get 48 additional free instruments!
