I see there are mobile versions of a lot of software now. When will we see Full version of stuff like FL Studio, Reaper, Reason and Ableton Live type stuff for the iPad? What will it take as far as features that would have to be in the ipad
to make it happen?
to make it happen?

about two years I'd say...
I have this gut feeing that the Abes are working on a version of Live right now, at the very least an awesome controller for it.

It's almost as if Bitwig, Ik Multimedia and Ableton are waiting for the ipad 3? The rumor is the ipad 3 will be out in February.. would be cool to see removable storage as an option.....

some potential...
imagine a Dock thing like that and a larger ipad the size of a good size monitor.. no need for a computer anymore..

The Ipad 3 probably won't come out in Febuary, but I'm almost certain it will contain a quad-core processor, which should it make it possible for it to finally run AUs - so you can expect a full (Mac) version of Garageband incoming, and lots of other amazing apps...yes...2012 will be a tremendous year for iOS, for certain, though we probably won't start to see dramatic changes until possibly June.

specialists tend to say that A6 quad core (like any quad cpu arm system on chips) will be as powerful as our intel core duo from 2005-2006.
I run reason 6 on my old core 2 duo laptop so I don't see any reason that ipad 3 won't run very complex softwares if software companies release them.
anyways you can do interesting things with what we already have today.

I am hoping to see EZDrummer or Addictive Drums come on the scene with a full version on ios systems...maybe some vst based effects and instruments too for use in ios based cubase or protools..FL Studio....but do it right!!!
Rock On!

I think Steinberg will be first. I rarely use Cubase these days but they always seemed to be aggressive about future technology.
