Can you please give us the option to turn them off because they are pretty annoying.

Thanks.

This claim is extremely misleading. We do NOT use iAds in IK apps. What you are calling "ads" are informational in-app messages that occasionally pop up at launch that remind you to register to unlock free sounds, inform you about suggested hardware such as iRig MIDI, or relay other messages relevant to IK users.
Cause informing people about other products you sell is completely different than advertising...

It also shows even if we have the full version AND iRig MIDI. It's extremely annoying to be asked to register over and over again. When I click to register, it knows I already registered...so why have the pop up? I don't mind an ad while the app is loading, but to have popups I have to click...especially when they are telling me something I have already done is uncalled for.

I had hoped this would get resolved in the update, but upon loading I was once again asked to register.

Thanks for the report, iPlogger. We'll see what we can do about that.

Aural Chaos, yes they are quite different. Many apps use iAds, which display constant banners across your screen. Our apps do not do that. In-app messaging is quite different than ads. Unlike developers who use iAds in their apps, we do not earn money from our in-app messages. They are strictly to communicate important information to our users, mainly geared towards getting the most out of their IK experience.

---Not fusing but...the bonus sounds offered only to iRig buyers should also be exctended to those who have consistently given you business and not just this item. I bought the entire Sampletank bundle and I don't deserve some free sounds at the very least? The pop up that keeps telling me to register is annoying but knowing that just because I chose a different interface because the iRig was available yet and that I had supported your company already is kind of insulting...

You're under no obligation to read threads about products you aren't interested in, like this SampleTank for iPad announcement thread.

Anyways...

Check out the first SampleTank for iPad tutorial!
Damn you're annoying. Are you 16?

You must surely understand that peoples complaints about ads/"in-app messages" are NOT about if you make money or not.

But if you're a part of IKM marketing, I can understand how you're confused.

We've acknowledged that we'd look into the popups for people who already own the products (which isn't supposed to happen) and kept up with the updates based on the original intent of the thread. I don't think we'll take the bait of your personal insults, being that IK typically employs actual musicians and not just marketeers, salespeople, etc which we believe sets us apart. Tolerance for forum abuse seems to be part of the marketing skillset too, but that just comes from being regular users here first. Have a nice day.

I own a lot of IK PC software, and i think it's great that they are trying different ways to make the iPad business model work. It is significantly different selling $10 products than $100 products, when they both require similar development cost. I don't have a dog in this fight, but think as consumers we should be looking for win-win relationships with developers, rather than assuming that IK is like a Wall street behemoth trying to rip off the little guy....believe me, if your aim in life is to make lots of money, you are NOT going to make music creation software!!!
Just my $.02 :)

Thanks princeofroles.
As Peter said, we do have a pretty high level of tolerance. ;)

You do hit on a point though. While it is only a small band of repeat offenders, it does have the real world impact of creating a negative experience for all users who come here looking for information and the opportunity to interact directly with developers like us, and it does make those interactions more scarce. So the real losers in this are unfortunately the KVR members who come here in good faith.

So when KVR members wonder why their questions and suggestions go unanswered, they need look no further than the corrosive atmosphere that has tarnished much of this forum. We do have a very active IK User Forum that does not suffer from that same corrosive element, and we can always be reached there! 8)

Passive aggressive posting/marketing is annoying, as people have expressed in this thread.
If this user feedback is just forum tarnish to you, then I understand why you post like you do.

An advertisement about other products from IK (in this case GrooveMaker) is indeed an advertisement that I do not appreciate getting when I launch Sampletank, an app I paid money for.

You have a reading comprehension problem. I never said you used iAds.

Right, you do not earn money from popups that advertise your other apps for people to buy.

Look Brian, I'm a paying customer. I own Amplitube for iOS, Sampletank for iOS, Sampletank for OS X, and T-Racks for OS X. I like your products, but your forum marketing blitz leaves a sour taste when all you do is justify issues with your software, not take the criticism. The advertisement issue (sorry, they are most definitely ads when they've got NOTHING to do with the app I'm using) is a legitimate concern, and yet you call my post misleading and then proceed to justify it. That's bullshit. I can't even use Amplitube any more, because unlike GarageBand, AmpKit+, and other apps, you guys refuse to support the Apogee JAM, a device that's far and away a superior sounding unit to your iRig. Even though AmpKit+ has their own device, the JAM still works. Why can't you guys do that?

Every where I go on the Internet one of you guys are popping up doing advertisements for IK, masked as a "helpful forum post". Stick to Twitter and Facebook. If you guys can't handle the interaction that occurs on a public Internet forum, I suggest you not get involved in it. KVR is extremely tame compared to many others, yet you've labeled it toxic. That's pretty laughable, considering the majority of issues raised here have been quite legitimate.

By the way, thanks for answering my now irrelevant question in this thread:

You might want to subscribe to threads that you're advertising in, in case people have questions.

disappointed that there are Ads or rather "messages" in the paid version. I'm not going to buy that. Remove them and I'll buy everything you make for iPad.
