There is a new Absynth 5 patch available on absynthsounds.com:
Doctrine of Calmness
Also I noticed that one patch Sci-Fi Organ which I published some moths ago got lost on the way and wasn't online anymore - it is again now so there are 117 Absynth 5 patches altogether and a quite a few are in the making.

My first shitty video of an automated Absynth 5 patch I finished today - I decided to get into tutorials a bit, my video skills are not there yet
- but the sound is alright

Here is first tutorial video:
As this is one of the most frequently asked questions, here is a tutorial video about controlling sample playhead position/speed in Granular mode with envelopes.

Absynth has various synthesis forms like Substractive, Additive, FM, Sync Granular, samples, granular synthesis and you can also import single cycle waveforms from any audio material. Per patch you can activate 3 Oscillators mixing these various synthesis forms.electro wrote:Can someone describe Absynth and what it is better at than other softsynths.
It has a unique envelope system for modulating all kinds of parameters and a variety of filter types - some good, some mediocre ones, some unique ones (e.g. Cloudfilter).
Filter Feedback modulation is also available, so is Audio modulation where the amplitude of one Oscillator modulates the paramters you assign to it. It also has good combfilters and an extended LFO section with 3 LFOs.
The FX section is quite special also, the Aetherizer introduces effect sounds no other synth has and the Resonators and Tibe FX can create quite special sounds as well.
The learning curve is a bit steep but Absynth definitely is a special synth hard to compare with it's competitors.
It certainly misses sfz-import/multisample support and velocity layering for samples. The keyboard follow section would need a serious overhaul as well.

Hi Simon
I've only just noticed that I need to follow this thread now instead of the other one.
I'm posting here to hopefully activate email notifications for this thread - fingers crossed it all works smoothly.
Best
