I've been playing with Diva, and she's breath-taking. It's so close to analog it's utterly hypnotic. I want to give a big, huge thanks to Urs, Howie, and Clemens(and anyone else that may have been involved) for bringing this little femme fatale of a synth to life!!! Thanks guys, well done, and Happy New Year!! :tu:

Cheers,

I agree ...a big, big ...WOW !

...i just scratch the surface yet, amazed though by the sound quality in any circonstances

Someone suggested a random button, (or a more elaborate random function similar to fm7/fm8 to give a rough example) that doesn't seem a bad idea at all :

Just because it seems dead easy to create something usuable by a very few and even approximative manipulation, so even based on random parameters it seems to me a no brainer to quickly create some usuable presets

A plausible bargain to sound designer's workflow as far as i can judge

There's a guy on a synth FB group I'm on who says that once Diva is officially released, he will sell his Minimoog.

Yeah, wow indeed. :)

I have to agree with the WOW

Diva has set a new standard. And I really like the aesthetic that Urs and Co. have followed. The synth is not anal about being exact, or having perfect parameter scaling, but about the character of the sound. And it is exciting the development methods they have established because it seems that the techniques they used means something with the quality and character of Diva is repeatable and not just a kinda random hit. Diva really bodes well for future development!

Well said, agreed!

Here's another agreement.

Put it this way - I own a dotcom system, a couple moogs and some DSI gear. Any VA plugin has always sounded either thin, or weak, or lacking real 'musicality' in comparison to my hardware. I do use a lot of software though, I'm not a total analog snob.

Now there is Diva, which is *finally* what I have been hoping for from a plugin.

It is musical! Such sweet filters... it sounds absolutely beautiful, and in comparison to real analog gear is spookily similar. I have been able to replicate some of my favorite hardware patches so they are virtually indistinguishable - a few times when doing this I've even become momentarily confused as to which keyboard I've assigned to Diva and which keyboard to the hardware.

It sits perfectly in my mixes with hardware analog - so I bought it within a couple days of experimenting with it.

I can't praise the quality of Diva enough. The fact that my machine crumples under the load at times does not concern me because we have the brilliance of selecting 'draft' quality for laying things out, and can render in divine. But just think - in a few years we will all have computers that will take running divine divas in their stride.

Happy New Year Urs and crew, and thank you for giving this old synth-head the best software I have ever heard. Period.
