Kontakt 5 Issues

i'm trying to solve a couple mysteries i have with Kontakt and Cantabile Performer and wondering if anyone here is a master of Kontakt in Cantabile.

Firstly, regarding volume control from my midi controller (m-audio keystation 88es), i'd like to use the volume slider on my controller to control the plugin volume in Kontakt for the FULL range of volume. it works, but.... what happens is anytime i change the volume, Kontakt plug-in resets and won't go above zero (as in 0.0 for the plugin volume slider, normal volume). i know there is a setting in Kontakt to control that, but i'd prefer to bypass that and move volume of the plugin all the way down or up beyond zero. basically, i need to go above the 0.0 for solo volumes.

i'm also noticing certain Kontakt plugins don't have descriptive controller values - only numbers. wondering if that is a Kontakt issue, or plugin specific issue.

I am not a master of Kontakt but did you try the good old midi way instead of mapping to VST parameters?

CC 7 = Volume ( for static mix purposes )
CC 11 = Expression ( for dynamic volume change purposes )
