Just once before I die I'd like to go. It aint gonna happen this year.

What do you think will be the big attraction this year aside from in and out burgers?

Being at NAMM is entirely overrated. Too many sales reps and dealers in the same rooms. I prefer to observe the announcements from the comfort of my desk or bed.

A lot of us are hoping for Stylus RMX 2.0, integrated with Omnisphere and Trillian in new ways, including tons of bass grooves! :shrug:

I would never go to namm..first I dont travel well and even if I were in the area it would be too loud there for me, plus way too many people which is the main reason I dont travel well. :shrug:

@hink bring earplugs

@Mushy.
Akai is all about Ableton Live APC's I suspect they will have a new variety out that will take the wind out of NI Maschine which really isn't that hard to do.

@fmr
Really? Logic only impresses mac users who have never gone beyond Garage Band. While not being a fan of apple I do give them a little bit (not much) cred for ipad marketing. As I've read things people are generally disappointed with either the ipad or the ipad app experience in regards to music stuff.

Anyway my predictions.
Lots of kickstarter stuff with no end products to show.
QuNeo looks like a done deal all they need is to cover production costs.

Starr labs will have a none functioning itar at namm. Funny I love ztars but overall am unimpressed with the itar.

Roland will have a new fantom line.
Korg will release an "expanded version of Kronos.

What I'd like to see but wont.
Yamaha releasing an american version of the stagea. A sturdier two manual version of the Tyros.
Chromatones for a western audience. Seems they only make em for japan.

Nord introduces the C3 the next gen in two manual keyboards.

Presonus offers a 24 track hard disk recorder to compliment the 24.4.2 mixer that runs off of standard firewire

Parker (washburn) introduces a new variax model similar in features to the James Tyler Variax.

Xoom gives the R24 a face lift with a 10 inch screen for faster, better editing.

The return of modulus guitars actually making guitars as opposed to just basses.

that just makes talking to someone all the harder. Should I go there just to wander around with a smile on my face? :oops:

My favorite thing to do at NAMM, besides cruising for weird stuff like the totally awesome Kala U-Bass (a Ukulele sized instrument strung with those rubber strings from that old Fernandes bass years ago), is to make a skullet count.

I've never seen so many skullets gathered in one place in all my life than what I saw in a visit to NAMM in 2009.

entry: skullet

part of speech: noun

1. Variation on the mullet hairstyle preferred by has-been musicians, often dyed jet black. Usually paired with out-of-date leather jacket and undersized torn jeans replete with chain-attached wallet. Current Example: Yngwie Malmsteen

Not if you buy musician's earplugs from Westone - flat attenuating, a volume knob for your ears.

Note: I work for Westone, and Westone has a booth at NAMM.
