1. - Nice groovy track, great to hear some winds. Are you playing in this?
2. - Not much of a clubber meself, but it sounds great.
3. - This is sweet, love the acoustic bass and the relaxed atmosphere.
4. - Aww, one of my faves by Sarah, and a classy retake.
5. - Interesting piece... jazzy, theatrical.
6. - Beautiful... well, I love SRV, so...
7. - Yeah, nice and funky for sure.

ok Daniel... not too detailed, but here's some comments on the tracks:

You've hit the nail on the head !

1) Old-skool funk flavours... groovy as hell! Lovely horns I think the German rapping may be an acquired taste for a refined Englishwoman such as myself

They rap about the groove police of the groove departement, coming in every break to complain about the sound and all other stuff and discouraging the band from playing their ass off !

4) Did I say the last one was my favourite? I meant this one! Who is this suprememly talented woman? Why isn't she doing lunch with Beyonce and shopping for shoes with Lady Gaga? I'm sure it's only a matter of time...

You forgot to mention that you already did the shopping tour and apart from the fact that the credit cards were set on fire, the economic crisis starts with the sell out of shoes / diamonds and the insurection of all Al Bundy's / Diamond miners around the world !
I know this woman and she's rightly that unmodest !

5) Wacky cinematic jazz vibes. Wish I could understand what he was singing...

As always this is more a thread for readers than for really in professional music interested people (apart from the participants) !
Additionally this is for free !
This really starts to get ridiculous, so for all who are tunkering with the idea of listening to the music, after reading my newspaper, hurry up !

OK, made through a first group a couple of times. It all sounds excellent so my comments should be understood in that light!
1. Groovepolizei - Horns! I love horns. This tracks a blast. The horn riff, though, I can't tell if it is an homage or the same riff as (I forget the name of the song right now, sorry!). Also, the lyrics are a pretty constant stream of syllables, like rapping! great, fun.
2. Allright - the sound nails early 90's club stuff for me. The arp sounds stolen straigh from LFO! Again, lots of vocals. My impression through the first 2 songs is that there are a lot of words being used. I wish I could mix a tune this well.
3. Cosmic PAssenger: Lazily beautiful with an interesting change of motif at the end. Really breezy - driving under tree covered roads, kind of stuff. I like it a lot.
4. Cowboyride: This track is gorgeous, and ethereal. There are two things that stand out to me though - the vocals bring a very high hiss to them, and sound like they need a bit rolled off the top. The washes positively sizzle when I listen to them. Also, I might prefer an arrangement with fewer vocals - or at least spread them out. Somehow this beautiful track sounds to me like it wants to breathe a little bit more. Absolutely lovely though, and I hope my attempts at constructive feedback do not sway anyone form the visceral pleasure of the first listen of the track!

I'll keep listening It's all great stuff, Drumity, congratulations.

I didn't have my piece truly ready in time for this comp, but would like to give my feedback while listening through this...



01: "FUNK-A-HOLICS - Groovepolizei" Love the funk. I would have

preferred an instrumental in this one, I think, but I respect the

vocalist's work. Good recording. Full sound. Classic, even.


02:"PULSE - Allways" Smooth bass. Like the others here, I don't love

the style, but I can hear all of the hard work that went into this.

Sugary sweet as cotton candy pop.


03: "COSMIC PASSENGER - WoodWorks" The bass is great. Love how subtle

and silky this is, especially after the first 2. It gets a bit musack at

times, but I really love it.


04: 04 "EKO CENTRIK - Cowboy Ride" Does anyone at KVR not have a crush

on this girl because of her talent alone? It's easy to love this. Good

track for mid-summer, late night chill outs. A real highlight track in

this comp.


05: "AOS - Nachtflug" - Decent live groove. I like how the drum mix sounds.

The hyper FM radio-compression vocals are an interesting touch.



06: "DIZZY THANG - Lenny" Sexy guitar work. Well recorded, well mixed piece. Sounds great. A+


07: "PYJAMA PEOPLE - PeePee" This has a mid 90's Phish feel to it and that made it the least fav track on this comp. But as a recording and mix, it was well done. Sounds a little hot relative to the others, but still comes out of my monitors sounding good.


08: "POLYSLAX - Wayfinding" Does anyone at KVR not have a crush on this guy because of his talent alone? Compelling, thoughtful, and well polished track. When the drums come in, I am ready for them. Great work. Good ending piece for the comp.

Well, there's my 2 cents. Nice work on the mastering, as is par, drumity. Everything sound really nice, wide, and full.

Allright here's my little review

1: very funky and groovy indeed, sounds great, not so sure whether i like the German stuff though.

2: Nice groovy bit of electronica.. sounds good too!

3: Really nice and relaxing basswork. Is this trillian? Nice music to play while readuing (which in my book is a good thing)

4: Wow really spaced out stuff, which i also love.. love the vocals, good sounds, interesting rhythm.. this song has it all

5: Interesting tune.. seems a little distorted, but maybe that;s the way it's supposed to sound? I still don't like German as a musical language too much (don't worry, i don't like Dutch either, and i'm Dutch myself).

6: This may sound silly, but this tune sounds exactly like a recording of an aftershow Prince once did in a club nearby (Paard van Troje) as far as the sound is concerned, as well as the song.. youo can take that as a big compliment .. seems to be clipping a bit here and there, maybe intentionally

7: Fun, energetic, sounds cool too

8: Really nice tune by Polyslax.. love the tune.. nice and relaxing, yet interesting

Totally unexpected and therefore even more appreciated

Clipping you can for sure rule out concerning my masters !
I'm mastering to the -3 dbFS standard, with an -0.5 dbFS limited output
at the last stage !
Absolutely there are some intended distortion by the artists !

The Prince reference is absolutely great !
This blues recording happened some years ago,
for my today (Recording/Mixing) standard the drums would be more within the ambience and would been felt more in the stomach !
