just tried to convert to .png and it didn't work. damn this is weird, wish I knew more about graphics.michael2 wrote:not sure actually. i tried converting limeflavors first batch and it didn't work, but he pulled it off somehow. interesting. your skin looks awesome though.Teksonik wrote:michael2 wrote:the .bmp doesn't work on macs (only .png). took a look at them anyways and that green version looks tremendous.Teksonik wrote:Cool! Great news that you encourage mods.Limeflavour wrote:Teksonik > I have nothing against modifications so please post them, this goes for everyone. Post your Mods! and keep them free
It would be nice if "modders" could credit me or let the limeflavour text in the top part of the gui still be visible.![]()
Anyway here are the orange/dark and green/light mods. ALL credit and a great deal of thanks goes to Limeflavour. All I did was hit the "colorize" button.![]()

Let me know if there are any problems.
Sorry don't know anything about Macs. If I convert the .bmps to .pngs will that work or is there more to it?

Here's how to convert the skins from Pc to Mac:
- First save the bmp's as png files in your preffered graphic program.
phat_backgrounds.bmp -> phat_backgrounds.png
phat_controls -> phat_controls.png
- The controls image is abit special because you also need to delete the magneta/pink and white background color, this should make the background transparent.
(in PHS use "color selection" choose magneta and hit delete then use the lasso tool and select the white an hit delete.)
If you do this it will also work for Mac's.

I really like the look of those gui's.
Can't get on your site from China though. It's blocked here.
Do they work for you?

As promised I have now updated the skins again.
-Brighter text for the red boxes in the Lightside skin.
-Green -> Yellow -> Red Vu meters for both skins.
To use the new metering colors you have to delete the "phat_backgrounds" file and rename the "vu_greenyellowred_phat_controls" to "phat_backgrounds".
Links at the usual place.

If you were ever to do another Synth skin, how about the Synth 1 everyone talks about? I've got it installed but never use it, it's the UI that puts me off trying it more, maybe a new skin would make this synth even better and more useable...
Why do you do this for free though? surely you could get paid for doing this and not just rely on Donations, Synth 1 seems to be the most popular freeware synth yet it hasn't been re-skined yet....
PS I like the new UA Skin, installed and a keeper...

Synth1 is not skinnable so that won't be possible, maybe with Mgui but my understanding of that program is not good.
Also I'm short on time right now so I probably won't make any more skins for a while.
There just might be a commercial plugin with one of my guis in a near future...

Good for you, when you said I was the first person to ever donate I wondered why you did/do it? Hopefully you'll get paid ok for the commercial one, good luck...Limeflavour wrote:Synth1 is not skinnable so that won't be possible, maybe with Mgui but my understanding of that program is not good.

hey guys,
was so glad to find these skins as the original one is really... hard to use
Unfortunately I don't have a clue how to use the skins with my Mac version. Can someone tell me?
Thanks,
Marco

I am a latecomer to this thread. I just downloaded and installed one of your skins for UltraAnalog VA-1 and I must say it looks fantastic!Limeflavour wrote: Anyway, if you want 2 new skins for UltraAnalog visit >this link < to download.
I have also updated the skins to contain both Bmp and Png files because obviously the Mac's don't read the Bmp files as the Windows version does.
Since I don't own a Mac please tell if the skin does not look as in the screenshot at my blog.
Screenshots are hosted at stashbox, if they are not visible there are also screenshots at the download link (only 2 variations have screenies here)
