Diva Vs. Real Analog

Too bad people freak the hell out whenever an 'analogue vs digital' discussion comes up.
I can say this much for sure - Diva sounds pretty darn good to me. It makes other well loved VAs that I've used sound lame in comparison. It is by far the best sounding soft synth I've used. Bazille is the only other thing in the same league.
Diva sounds so good that it actually got me into analog gear. I didn't realize Any synth could sound that good until I used it. So now I'm spending to get more of that. I'm not trying to replace it with actual analog stuff, just do different things. It does not and isn't supposed to cover All synth ground.

Laurent IS kind and polite and this kind of treating him like an a**hole really annoys me.ttoz wrote: Laurent has always been so kind and polite to me and i actually *can't* believe this.
I guess that the real problem is based on the fact the many people dont ALLOW that there is another good company besides U-He...
Personally i am not a general fan of all U-He products but Diva is really nice.
On the other hand i got all products (at least the software) of Waldorf and Xils. Does this make me bad or being stupid?

Diva and Waldorf complement each other very well.Ingonator wrote:

Don't sure about Xils.

Still, he's a competitor who criticised two of our products dozens of times, while advertising for his own.Ingonator wrote: Laurent IS kind and polite and this kind of treating him like an a**hole really annoys me.
I have mentioned his stuff a total times of once, after being actually asked about it - when Ltz suddenly stated that Synthix was modeled with the same method as Diva, I could not resist to point out some easy to spot differences.
I can't speak for my customers, but I don't feel like I'm crossing borders here. I tried to reason with him, it did not work. He cleverly markets himself as a victim of an orchestrated campaign of "us", which is supposed to make me look bad.
I once defended myself against unfair advertisement, which he made out as an attack on the advertiser. He misses no occasion to make an aggressor out of a victim.
I don't think I need this kind of treatment.
Urs
P.S.: The funny thing is that I posted the source code to the method Synthix is supposedly modeled on, here in the dev forum. Ltz should be thankful, not hateful.

No-one criticising Lotuzia/Laurent has got stuck into Xils-Labs from what I've read: it's just the posting behaviour of one of the company's representatives who takes every opportunity to promote a soundset or synth that he's involved with and criticise those that he doesn't - it makes every comment just look like a sales pitch even if it's meant honestly.Ingonator wrote:I guess that the real problem is based on the fact the many people dont ALLOW that there is another good company besides U-He...![]()

..that no-one here really knows what has gone on in private emails etc, so prob best to keep out of itIngonator wrote: I guess that the real problem is
having said that, its quite obvious that some devs here do aggressively advertise their own products at every opportunity, the evidence is there in the threads. That is something i find very annoying, but its easy to ignore, and certainly wont encourage me to buy their products.
There is a good reason for this too, a search for key words will bring up all these threads, so a thread about synth A will also bring up synth B if it is mentioned in that thread. A dev admited this a few pages back

i agree 100% to that comment of yours but it would be great if such discussions would stay in private emails and PMs then.
Others besides Urs and Laurent are heating up this "war" again and again so maybe it's really best for all to stay quiet.
This thread is totally derailed anyway as it looks i was the only one posting a comparison of Diva and a real analog synth (= Moog Slim Phatty) so far like it was intended by the OP.
I'm with you in this. Personally i like both Urs and Laurent and i'll try to stop posting towards this annoying discussion before i write something i'll maybe regret.ttoz wrote:you're a good guy Urs i am sure so i will keep it simple for me and say i like you both and not look into this any further or it will upset me.

I demoed Xils Synthix after reading this thread.
