I'll give it another go - very nice plug - I hope I didn't send you on a wild goose chase. I'll report back in 48 hours either way. Thanks again!

I got warnings for the x86 dll out of Norton IS 2012 (downloading on two different, clean machines) - but then again NIS is the king of false positives (suspicious.cloud is alsmost as common as the moronic ws.reputation alert)

Sorry - I'll have to pass for now. About 5 seconds after I unzipped, I was notified by Spyware Dr with Antivirus by PC Tools of a virus. Scanning now. The name is of the virus is "HUERENGINE.ZERODAYTHREAT"

Looks kinda messy to me: http://www.cleanpcguide.com/removal-gui ... t-removal/

that's so weird... both builds are the same exact code. Maybe something went funky when vc++ was building the 32-bit plugin. I'll make another one tomorrow after work just in case.

Hey all,

I did some minor code cleanup and rebuilt both versions of dBVU and Polarity. I ran all of them through VirusTotal again and PCTools didn't pick up anything.

I think it's safe to say that this virus report is a false positive. Not only because of the amount of clean reports from multiple users and virus scans but also by reports of multiple users and myself using these plugins with no problems whatsoever for the last few months. A ZeroDayThreat is definitely not something to mess around with, but I guarantee there are no viruses included in my plugins.

With that being said, I know false positives are unavoidable but I'm still bummed and confused about this whole issue. I'll definitely continue looking into it.

I want to thank everyone who did a virus scan and reported their results here. You're all awesome! :D!

xybre wrote:Booyah, thanks for the polarity switcher. I've had a lot of problems with different polarity plugins in the past, for whatever reason, and this one is stereo.

I might suggest just two buttons, "left" and "right", for an even simpler UI.
I'm glad you like it!

As for dropping the L+R and OFF buttons... What if you want to flip both sides at once?
Either using automation or a live midi control?

FYI "HUER" is short for "Heuristics", it means it's making a guess.

I dunno... To me, requiring someone to write automation or use a MIDI controller just to flip an entire track seems more difficult than just clicking a "L+R" button. Right now, the buttons are "radio buttons, so selecting one will deselect all of the others. I do really appreciate the suggestion, though :)

Good to know!

Hey everyone,

I just applied for a KVR Developers Account. This should make it easier not only for me to post updates but for everyone else to follow development and see what other VSTs I offer.

Have a great day!

+1

Very nice plug, using it on some current projects & finding it useful.

Ok without trying this yet ..... I am loving the prospect of making this a staple on the master bus. A request for the future (if your taking them  :) ) could you find space for a collapse/mono switch ??

I use it on the master too :) (setting the 0VU calibration to whatever amount of headroom I want in the mix)

Collapse to mono.. You're talking about the audio and not the metering, right?

I only ask because right now the "A" button causes the meter to show the average stereo level but does nothing to the sound. Whipping up a quick mono->stereo summer would be pretty easy though if that's what you're after ;)
