Can someone explain to me how to map something to a graph. For example the decay of a kick drum on macro control 2 (G2?).

On the Synth engine page, click the button labelled "G1" (Graph 1) just below the Amp Env section (note: G1, not GL1 which is the global LFO).morelia wrote:Can someone explain to me how to map something to a graph. For example the decay of a kick drum on macro control 2 (G2?).
Hover the mouse over the Amp Env Decay slider. The mouse pointer has a dot in the center. Move the mouse a little, and the dot disappears - this indicates you can now adjust the modulation amount for the currently selected mod source. Adjust this to the desired amount, the control will split in two.
Click on the Graphs button at the top left of the GUI.
Draw in the graph values.
Note: the graph lane patterns do not observe the pattern length of the target track, so if your kick drum pattern is only 4 steps long, you'll still need to draw graph values every 4 steps for the whole graph lane.
Peaec,
Andy.

Thanks Andy that did it. I knew I was just missing something simple but it wasn't obvious from the Graph section in the manual.

3.1 GHz iMac i5 with lots of memory. 75% cpu with four sounds and one transmod modulation? How much I like Fxpansion - that is actually ridiculous.

some of the presets and included individual sounds are polyphonically enabled... so fast repeating hits use multiple voices and can kill the cpu... if that is the case, you can make them monophonic and the cpu use is much less... I think they should add a voice limiter option.DrGonzo wrote:3.1 GHz iMac i5 with lots of memory. 75% cpu with four sounds and one transmod modulation? Unless you have multiple voices with long release times stacking up due to the "Cut" parameter being turned off for one of the engines, that doesn't sound right.DrGonzo wrote:3.1 GHz iMac i5 with lots of memory. 75% cpu with four sounds and one transmod modulation? CPU is quite well be behaved here on a 2011 MBP.
Peace,
Andy.

Live 8.2.(something). Yes, maybe that's what happening - too long release times. I'll experiment with that. But just the fact that four tracks can gobble up that much processor scares the hell out of me. It makes me wonder what kind of computers does Fxpansion develop on? Helium-chilled racks of supercomputers?ZenPunkHippy wrote:Unless you have multiple voices with long release times stacking up due to the "Cut" parameter being turned off for one of the engines, that doesn't sound right.DrGonzo wrote:3.1 GHz iMac i5 with lots of memory. 75% cpu with four sounds and one transmod modulation? Well done FXpansion!
Absolutely brilliant work once again.
Between DCAM, Geist, and now Tremor you are earning me mad paychecks. Your software has become the staple of all my productions. Good god you guys, I can't praise you enough.
One idea about the drag and drop pattern; all poly-rhythms eventually meet back at the original downbeat where they all started right? Maybe a simple, "whatever you made is however long the region is going to be" export could be doable in a pinch no? Just make the exported pattern end when everything meets back at the downbeat of the original start point.
I could be way off here, I'm no mathamtician, but I am a huge Zappa fan and if there's one really nerdy thing I learned from him it was him soloing in in one time signature, while the drummer plays in another time signature and the bass player plays in yet another time signature... they all meet on a downbeat eventually before they drift apart again. The poly-rhythmic cycle repeats until Frank was done soloing.
Again, amazing stuff guys. Damn near almost perfect.

hi
i just bought tremor and i have to say it is a great plug in, very inspiring and i have just started to tweak with it
for all who complain about the " too distorted" sounds and presets i answer:
this is tremor; these are its characteristics; anyway you can tweak with it and begin from scratch; if you dont like it, just don buy it
that's all

Tremor is a real chameleon and to say that its forte is distorted sounds is to miss a whole world of intricate sounds. In fact, I think it's great at little percussive, incidental sounds suitable for IDM, which the DCAM mod system is so good at:

The above demo goes through eight patterns of a beat I have, with no distorted sounds whatsoever.

Truly wonderful example of the more organic side of Tremor.himalaya wrote:Tremor is a real chameleon and to say that its forte is distorted sounds is to miss a whole world of intricate sounds. I can only speak for myself, but my grumbles about the presets is that not enough of them show of this more intricate, expressive side of the deep synthesis engine. I wouldn't have purchased it if I believed it wasn't capable of a less processed sound. It's just a case that to my mind the preset selection is unbalanced in favour of crunchier timbres and might put certain people off. If people believe that Tremor's only forte is is heavily processed sounds, they're missing a whole other side to a truly innovative and wonderfully expressive instrument.
I'm a huge fan of what you do (as you know by the number of purchases I've made of Himalaya products) and I'd be very interested to hear a pack from you in the near future that focusses on the more expressive side of Tremor.

I'm creating more of those organic beats as we speak so I'd hope that they will be made available soon. At the moment I'm focusing on kind of minimal Tech House beats with lots of original percussive sounds (as heard above) and Ambient loops. You can hear more of those Tech House loops in the official Tremor player at FXpansion (track 2).
Try this loop in the Tremor default library: category CLUB, preset Tech Robota . It has those 'organic' percussive zaps and bongs and the only distortion is on the kick (to add weight rather than obvious distortion).
