I like the idea. Ten years ago I would have liked to hear a mix of drum & bass & the heavy metal "rap rock" that was going on at the time (Korn, Orgy, Incubus, etc..). So I think it's pretty good production wise, musically it's nothing new but it's not like I hear new things on the internet or as promos (I participate in two different radio shows of electronic music) every day anyways.

Nope. Quite like the first as well. 2nd and Third were good IMO as well. Then they were just hit and miss after that.Bronto Scorpio wrote:![]()
Am I the only one who quite liked their first LP?
Cheers

Korn def did not create dub step. Maybe Johnathon's finally lost his mind....?

Uhh... Orgy was rap/rock? Maybe Industrial/Pop....SampleScience wrote:I like the idea. Incubus is Heavy Rock/Funk/Reggae and "comes off" (to me at least) a lot better than 311...

They need a new singer. He's been in a bad mood since the crystal meth guy left.

I thought Korn invented hip hop. Or was that Limp Bisquick?

I actually kind of like the dudes from Korn, only because they remind me of a favorite food of mine---warm cornbread with butter (yum!!!). But also because I've seen interviews and they seem nice, particularly the lead groaner.
I just don't get what he groans and moans and gurgles and burps and makes guttural utterances about. Maybe Taco Bell drive-thru was cloased early during his last pot binge, maybe his X-Box conked out in the middle of Call of Duty Rogue CIA Assassination Squad, maybe his girlfriend farted in a crowded elevator with him. It's just never totally clear when you have to try to make out the guttural utterances over the quadruple tracked, quintuple rectified baritone seven string guitar barrage.

Everybody knows I invented dubstep. I took dub, then I stepped on it's head. And that was dubstep. If it wasn't for me and my 180 subwoofers, no child would've been killed in 2012. True dat.
I make music: progressive-acoustic | electronica/game-soundtrack work | progressive alt-metal

I recently also heard the Skrilles "features" with KORN and I'm pleasantly surprised. Same with the Syndicate remix he did.
DubStep is definitely no tmy cup of tea, but in this case it fits both the mood of the songs and the arrangement. Maybe this is the reason why I liked the "old" Noisia stuff before their stuff went haywire and Pendulum before their stuff went "pop rock"? The chemicals were just better shuffled.
