Hi,

at the Waldorf forum i found that Waldorf announced the "Pulse 2", the official successor to the well known Pulse analog Monosynth:

http://www.waldorfmusic.de/en/pulse-2-s ... tions.html

http://www.delamar.de/instrumente/waldo ... e-2-13156/

Based on the german article above the price will be 549 Euros and t should be available in Summer 2012.

UPDATE: The release date at Summer will stay and the price will be around 499-549 Euros.

So far this is the only informations i got. I'll add more here as soon as i found more.

UPDATE:
english Blog about Pulse 2:

UPDATE:
Here are some pictures from the Musikmesse 2012 which show the Pulse 2 (working unit but software/firmware not finished yet), some of the Waldorf guys (including Wolfram Franke and Lu Wangard) and a comparison with the Blofeld desktop module:

Some of those pictures were supposed to be funny so don't take it too serious... :)

Here is a picture (included in the ZIP above) which shows the Zarenbourg Piano, a blofeld keyboard and a Pulse 2 together. Would be a nice setup or not?

Put me down for one.

I'll order mine from Sweetwater with a few other new products.

Cheers

That looks more interesting than the Arturia one to me

I'm sure it'll sound great but GAH! why the Blofeld style UI?

I'd rather pay a little more money for more knobs!

My guess about 599 usd

I doubt it. Surely it's for hooking up to a computer. Presumably there will be some sort of software editor for this.

+1.
However Arturia's interface is the one I prefer.

So far, the only new analogue synth which hits the specification sweet spot along with a proper interface is MFB Dominion X, and to be honest, if the sound is good, it would be worth it to save up a little bit to get one (about 780 Euro I hear).

In any case, these are good times when bigger companies are starting to produce new analogue gear - Korg just needs to step up and make a proper synth now.

My blofeld is pretty much unusable due to non-working pots. I hope they chose better ones for the pulse...

I wish the actual design of the pots was different - not smooth plastic, but something more substantial with grooves or rubbersied rings which would make it better to grab the pot.

There is no plastic, at least in the Blofeld which got metal knobs and a metal case and the Pulse 2 seems to have the same design. Anyway there seemed to be a few people who got problems with some of the knobs after long use.
AFAIK in the easiest case (does not work for all) this could be repaired by just turning the faulty knobs several times in both directions and then they work again.
Of course i hope that this will never happen with the knobs in the new Pulse 2.

Wish that fix worked, but it doesn't:

This is a little beyond my meagre soldering skills, unfortunately.

Hopefully, though, Waldorf have learned from this.
