In that case you might like this. I have a Roland CR78, Wersimatic WM24 and the Maestro Rythm King re-created in Tremor.

A few problems: certain sounds are closer than others, kicks and snare sounds were the easiest to do, followed by hats (but even these were a challenge, surprisingly), but any kind of metallic hits, maracas were very difficult. The pitch and timbre is off in many cases. For this reason, these are not 100% authentic emulations, think of them as offering a flavour of the original. Also, I couldn't fit all sounds into Tremor as it only has eight channels, and most of these old machines have many more sounds. Sometimes I could get two sounds in one channel by having each on a different velocity layer.

Look up in the top right corner in Tremor. There is a row of 24 pattern memories. The very first eight should always have preset patterns, usually variations on the first one. Just click on them. :-)
Thanks, H. I already spotted that. What I can't figure out is how to change the pattern set in those boxes. I know that they change when I hit a new preset, but the presets change EVERYTHING. Is there a way to just put in a new bank of patterns?

thanks

Ahh I see. You can't load new patterns into those memories, as far as i know. It would be a good FR. A workaround is to load the preset with the pattern you want and then load a different kit, I suppose.
Seriously? This can't be done? The other FXpansion machines do this brilliantly. I'm quite surprised that this hasn't been implemented here.

It is a BEAT machine, after all. I would think you'd be able to load BEATS.

Shouldn't this be a no-brainer? Or am I living in Crazytown?

So many plugins, so little time...

How do you turn off individual engines? I see that if I reset all engines the CPU drops dramatically. However everything is lost in this process. So, is there a switch for each engine to turn it on and off just like the one(s) in the fx section?

Is there any way of automating parameters in Tremor?

Nice! I guess my definition of vintage is slightly different. :hihi:

Yeah the 8 channels is limiting but the transmod makes up for that with some clever modulating. :)

I don't think you can but that would be a good feature to save on some cpu. :)

Yeah host automation but it's limited to 32 parameters. There's also the graph and transmod system for modulating each synth engine. :)

Thanks :)

There is no such switch and it is really necessary given the high cpu use. Also for when one wants to use the sequencer to drive another plug-in you are still using all the cpu.

I just checked and cpu does drop when i mute channels. It's 45% with 5 channels running and about 20% with just the kick soloed.

...and driving a few other plugs is exactly what I had in mind. Being able to drive various other sound sources effectively really extends the usefulness of this plug.

FXpansion has always polished off their plugs with a few enhancements after launch. I'll keep an eye on their progress and see how/if they deal with this issue.

Oops yeah i misread that. If the mute just muted the audio and not the midi that would make a big difference.

Yeah i'm giving it a good demo and i'm really impressed, it's amazing how much you can get out of a single voice using the modulations. Great plugin, loads of inspiration and really well thought out. :)

Unfortunately the midi is not sent out on a track when it is muted. So that does not help for driving other synths

I thought the sequencer would mute the midi and kit the audio but both mute the midi out. :(
