I'm using Diva as I type this. I need to try it with guitar->MF-101 and Monotribe next.

Yeah, that's an amazing preset indeed...

After swearing at my various audio interfaces for a few hours, I managed to record an actual music track, featuring 3 tracks of my Korg Monotribe being piped through ValhallaÜberMod:

http://soundcloud.com/seancostello/themefromubermod

I used the built in compressor in Logic on the bass/drums track and on the master bus, and 3 instances of ÜberMod.

Track 1 has the bass/drums sequence from the Monotribe. I haven't updated the OS in there yet, and I don't have any MIDI in there (yet). The sequence was played back via the Flux mode, and all bass/drum levels are controlled by the volume pots and filter settings of the Monotribe. The bass and drums were processed by the 8Tap mode in ÜberMod:

<ValhallaUberMod pluginVersion="1.0.0b1" presetName="ThemeFromUberModBass" Mix="0.768000007" Depth="0.458000004" StereoWidth="0.5" Delay="0.00939999986" Feedback="0.0280000009" Spread="1" Slope="0.5" Skew="0" Random="0" TapGain="0.5" Diffusion="0" DiffSize="0.695918381" DiffModRate="0.129129127" DiffModDepth="0.268000007" LowCut="0" HighCut="1" SpatialXover="0.185929641" DetuneRate="0.0320320316" DetuneDepth="1" VibratoRate="0.222556397" VibratoDepth="0.0359999985" OverMod="0.0202020202" DriveInGain="0.375" DriveOutGain="0.75" DriveNoiseGain="0.333333343" FeedbackRotate="0.5" SmoothingTime="1" ColorMode="0" DelaySync="0" type="0.25" DiffEnable="0" Drive="0" DrivePrePost="1" Speed="0"/>

Track 2 has a "string" sound. In this case, the sound is a filtered sawtooth from the Monotribe, and all the stringiness of the sound is created by ÜberMod running in the Dual Ensemble mode. The preset is pretty close to the existing SolinaVerb preset, and combines ensemble modulation with a diffusion reverb:

<ValhallaUberMod pluginVersion="1.0.0b1" presetName="ThemeFromUberModStringVerb" Mix="1" Depth="0.541999996" StereoWidth="0.5" Delay="0.0186000001" Feedback="0.66900003" Spread="0" Slope="0.5" Skew="0.5" Random="0" TapGain="0.449999988" Diffusion="1" DiffSize="0.408163279" DiffModRate="0.129129127" DiffModDepth="0.268000007" LowCut="0" HighCut="0.5" SpatialXover="0.221105531" DetuneRate="0.0690690726" DetuneDepth="0.331999987" VibratoRate="0.32631579" VibratoDepth="0.167999998" OverMod="0" DriveInGain="0.224999994" DriveOutGain="0.862500012" DriveNoiseGain="0.906666696" FeedbackRotate="0.5" SmoothingTime="0.0320320316" ColorMode="1" DelaySync="0" type="0.208333328" DiffEnable="1" Drive="0" DrivePrePost="0" Speed="0"/>

Track 3 has another simple sawtooth sound (pretty much identical Monotribe settings to the "string" sound) piped through that weird backwards pitch cluster ÜberMod setting I came up with yesterday. 8Tap mode, with OverMod used to generate the pitches, and very long diffusion lengths to get a sound that fades in over time. I'm tweaking the Monotribe filter to get specific harmonics to sound:

<ValhallaUberMod pluginVersion="1.0.0b1" presetName="ThemeFromUberModSlowPitch" Mix="1" Depth="1" StereoWidth="0" Delay="0" Feedback="0.634000003" Spread="0.0120000001" Slope="0.5" Skew="0.5" Random="0" TapGain="0.5" Diffusion="0.660000026" DiffSize="1" DiffModRate="0.277277291" DiffModDepth="0.523999989" LowCut="0" HighCut="0.1437186" SpatialXover="0.130653262" DetuneRate="0.404404402" DetuneDepth="1" VibratoRate="0.234085217" VibratoDepth="0.216000006" OverMod="0.224242419" DriveInGain="0.579166651" DriveOutGain="0.75" DriveNoiseGain="0.337777764" FeedbackRotate="0.5" SmoothingTime="0.0990990996" ColorMode="1" DelaySync="0.0588235296" type="0.25" DiffEnable="1" Drive="0" DrivePrePost="1" Speed="1"/>

I love the sound of the Korg-35 filter. And I will humbly submit that ValhallaÜberMod augments that filter nicely.

Beautiful work as always, Simon. Not sure how suitable it is for adult entertainment, though. :lol:

I remember finding a copy of Klaus Schulze's "Body Love" in my parents' record collection as a kid. I was much more interested in the cover than with the music, which was kind of boring to me at the time. It wasn't until the early 1990's, and finding "Autobahn" at a garage sale for $1, that I got into the German electronic music of the 1970's.

I forgot to ask: What is an "upright Farfisa"? I always thought they made electronic organs and the like. Did Farfisa actually make "physical" pianos?

Did I write Upright Farfisa? Where? I wrote upright piano, didn't I - I'm confused now :nutter:

Farfisa only made these cheezy organs, which you could here for decades in every german Bierzelt with some drunken entertainer singing adult entertaiment songs...the title of the demo is just a more or less intelligent word creation of mine...

For some reason, I though you said "upright Farfisa." It seemed like a cool idea.

And I'm a big fan of the 1960's Farfisa line. They sounded awesome in the hands of Pink Floyd, Stereolab, The Walkmen, and others. I think that they made some cheesy string ensemble pseudosynths that were used by the guys in Cluster and Harmonia.

Harmonia, btw, has some of the coolest looking studio shots I've ever seen:

No freaking idea where "Forst" is, or what it would be like to live there.

Those studio pics are just great :)
Upright Farfisa™ is now a trademarked brand!

Because the KVR post said upright piano but the soundcloud page said broken Farfisa.

Based on that example, it sounds like ubermod could be a good plug-in to get old warbly pitch tape sounds out of. True?
