I suppose it depends on your DAW, but, here on Cubase Mac, I can insert the MetaPlugin into an ordinary (stereo) audio track, load the desired VSTi or AU instrument into it, and set a Cubase MIDI track to route to the MIDI Input of that audio track's insert slot.
I did get a life,once...but it was faulty, so I sent it back.

The latest version has a VSTi version - maybe you need to update it?

Should be:

DDMF has released version 2.0 of the effect chainer Metaplugin.
Changes:
MIDI control is implemented, which means that not only effects but also synths can be loaded and played in every possible combination.
All effect parameters are now passed through to the host program
It doesn't say Windows only - I'll have to test this now I have a Mac too :)

Looks like it's a sort of bug - I just installed it - there is only a VST version but it has a midi in which is confusing as it implies it might work and load instruments in some hosts that will accept fx plugins on the instrument track (Reaper for example) - Studio One won't let me though

Yeah, like I wrote on the last page, MIDI input is there but not understood by some hosts unless you make it a proper instrument. Which I've done today, will be out next week. Good times for everyone! :D

Great ! Now I can buy it with this update in mind :) Lack of a separate VSTi version was holding me back.
