Unfortunately it's only Windows and only 32 bit - same for Edison
A little record module would be great for recording submixes and chains inside metaplugin

Hey Theottoz wrote:and neither will logic.
I just bought Logic and found there is a way to do this - insert Metaplugin as an "AU Midi controlled effect" from the list in the mixer strip and it will load plugin instruments - I'm playing D-Cam Amber right now with it!!

I just spotted the ad for Virtual audio recorder - that in plugin form (so you can insert at various places in the chain) would be just what I was thinking ofaMUSEd wrote:Unfortunately it's only Windows and only 32 bit - same for Edison

I just installed it too but it's working fine for me so far in Studio One v2, and Logic.

Great idea on the synth version! It might be interesting to include Metaplugin modules like EGs and LFOs (beat synced or not!) mapped to CCs or straight to parameters within Metaplugin so that you can grab say sfz+ as a generator and then use Fabfilter or Oligarch Filter as note-triggered Filters (or both!).
You could also have a rotator module that would assign alternate notes to subsequent available lines for polyphony. but this would create rather complex setups and probably be rather cpu intensive.
I don't think it would need to be very complex, but a few of these modules would really allow mixing and matching between generator and processing components and let them to work as synergistic sound generators. I always thought this would be a good idea

No I only have Blue and it's not on my Mac yet - so is it more of a RP bug then?ttoz wrote:did u try a rob papen synth in it?aMUSEd wrote:I just installed it too but it's working fine for me so far in Studio One v2, and Logic.

Just the few I have so far installed - u-he stuff, D-Cam, impOSCar 2...ttoz wrote:which plugins have you tried, opening and closing gui etc?
for reasons explained in my first post i highly doubt it's an rp bug, rather that rp is exposing a bug in mp.
of course as with anything in life, i could be wrong.

I've tried a few other plugins now - still no actual crashes but some buggy behaviour. With almost any plugin I try that keeps making sound when I remove it (eg Granite or a Zebra pad with a long release) Metaplugin emits a persistent beep noise after the plugin is removed and I have to delete it from the track to stop that. Also with Aalto the au works but the vst version has no gui - just white space.
Oh yeah also Uhbik au version - there is only one "shell" for all the plugins - problem is that's all Metaplugin see's so you can't use Uhbik currently in it.

What would be cool would be VST3 support so I can use this to load VST3 plugins into Logic
