Ok...here I am, tiptoeing out into the new year with a bit of chilled ambient. Back to more familiar (for me) territory - no mucking about with microphones and real instruments on this one

Very nice. I like it a lot. I could certainly stand to hear more like it. Please keep us updated on any new pieces you do.

Nice work Mike. Very chilled indeed and with some lovely sounds as well. I am going to stick my neck out and postulate the presence of presents on this piece (if you catch my drift).

Hey Tim - I do indeed catch your drift, and you're quite right, some of the chimes (not the 'lead' instrument, that's Rhino) are courtesy of Chromaphone. Glad you liked it

at first this seems like a bit of relaxing but innocuous ambient, but then you slide in some very nice dissonance and harmonic movement to build the tension making this a much more interesting and special sort of piece. enjoyed the journey very much.

I know what you mean, and I was tempted to smooth them out a bit at the mixdown stage, but I chose some of the sounds because of their harshness, which I felt fitted the theme of the piece...Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment
