Note: this is more crowded than I would ever have my windows, MOTU are doing the everything at once routine.

Sounds like the very reason why people slate Reaper.

Well like Reaper I assume, flexibility comes at the price of a learning curve at first.
Basically the exact opposite of Live where you really love the simplicity of the GUI and controls until years later you wish you could customize it globally instead of per song.

What do you think about the DP plugins' quality? I'm interested in the guitar amps/FX, and the monosynth in particular

Couldn't have anything to do with the rumors that apple is downsizing their imac/macpro/macbookpro line?
Right, a company only caters to Mac Pro users he he... what's wrong with you he he. Bro, if the Mac Pro died today, there is the x86 crowd you know? people like you make life hard.. sorry to burst your bubble but I won't use windows and the ASIO thing of you paid me... just a preference, and one I've earned. It's nice to know that DP is going to the PC though because really, the hardware is identical so why not on a new 64 bit compile.
Take care,

My dual core lappy has no problems at all with it! On energyXT2, that is--the only problem I've been having with it, as I've said, is that it crashes Acid, and this appears to be Sony's fault.
Thanks for solving my problem. Wizooverb 5 is completely unusable in Sonar 5 producers edition for some reason, maybe it's my individual configuration but i suspect it to be the Sonar vst adapters fault because i get the same loud-overload-sounds in CDArchitect wich uses the vst adapter. But when i insert W5 in Ableton lives demo or the Energyxt demo i get no problems and it works fine. This takes away from the joy i had at getting the Wizooverb bundle for only $99 a little because i'll have to buy Energyxt as well for $54 to use W5. Altho i am also interested in EXT for other reasons as well so it won't be so bad.
I have been talking with Cakewalk's tech support and M-audio's tech support and after many days of trying different set-up configurations and reinstalling Windows XP i finally believe we've narrowed it down to where the problems comming from (wish i would've tried another host program besides cdarchitect to begin with). I did'nt want to wait forever for both cakewalk and m-audio to further figure out the problem and come with a update because that may take forever, good thing i thought about the problem you had with Acid and how you worked around it.

To anyone who owns Sonar 5; W5 may not work correctly in it. Is there anyone here who uses both Sonar 5 and Wizooverb 5 without problems?
That's a PC for ya!
Epic. Registering only for this and returning five years after to defend Mac's honor again. I can't see anyone but you here playing the PC/Mac fanboy game.

This makes it look as if koolkeys had done something wrong. I think it twas someone else (thought I can't quite place them) that was in deserving of the mod edit. Oh, btw, doesn't look as if that person has gotten the hint ;)

i seem to remember that DP still runs on macbook pro, air, and imac.

death of mac pro is not the end.

Thunderbolt expansion chassis make any imac a mac pro.. ya know?

maybe apple doesn't need the mac pro line any more.
Thunderbolt expansion chassis? What's that?
Anyway, I don't know of any iMac, or Macbook Pro or air, with two CPUs, let alone ANY six core single CPU. Do you?

Me think we need Mac Pro (fairly priced) :help:

"Me think we need Mac Pro (fairly priced) "

Couldn't agree more, but I'm really glad to see Motu going in this direction.
My PC is already more powerful than my Mac Pro, and I don't feel too optimistic Apple is very serious about its "pro" line anymore, whether in hardware or in software like Logic Pro. Hope I get a nice big surprise from Apple with some groundbreaking products that haven't been announced yet, lol. But in the meantime I'm glad to see Motu doing this, hoping the best for them.

the thing is standalone you're spot on and tbh this mac/pc thing should be dead and burried by now. Many of us are well into the game now and have built our systems over many years. I'm not throwing away thousands of dollars worth of software to switch platforms now when I cannot even be sure if 5 years down the road I will be happier and I suspect that there are many, many, many people like me on both sides who feel exactly the same. Besides, it's not my machine that plays guitar...time to stop beating that dead horse :)
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
