I don't think I've ever heard of someone making preset addons for Sculpture from Logic - it actually comes with quite a small amount of presets. I will make my own once I have mastered it but it helps to see what others are doing with it.

have not tried them, can't afford to at the moment...they seem to be quite good...also other logic synth presets from the same guy

would love to hear what you come up with

I was so happy to get Sculpture last year when I was finally able to update to Logic 8 Pro from ver. 6, and then what I feared came true--It's a CPU killer. Now grant you, not all the presets bring death, but some of the really complex sounds do. For what it's worth, I'm running a pretty anemic setup--A single G4 running at 1.467 GHz, but I would suspect that even some faster computers might choke under the weight. Who knows?

Another reason I suspect there's not much out there in the way of sound design is its complexity and a lack of certain buzz. "What, it doesn't have a super saw?":)

Sculpture is one of the tougher synths to program. Its rather easy to come up with a sweet sound that only works in a certain octave and sounds like complete crap everywhere else on the keyboard. There is a pretty good workshop at macprovideo that i can really recommend.
CPU hit is no issue on any of the newer Intelbased macs.

It is a lot more complex than any other physically modelled synth I've used (which is almost all of them at some point). Certainly much more than AAS Chromaphone, to which it is probably closest in character.

I found a stack of presets for Sculpture and other Logic instruments and effects here:

http://www.logicprohelp.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=8

Someone there also posted presets from Logic 7 that seem to have not been included in later versions which is a pity since they are really excellent (esp the ones for ES2 and Sculpture). I was also able to locate some old presets for the EVD6 and EVB3 which I remember fondly from Logic 5 but was surprised had also not been included in the later version (love the Deep Purple and Doors ones).

You might want to check out my latest release:

Make sure to check out the demo. It's kind of a different more experimental approach, less "modeled strings, brass" standard presets, but twisted and warped instead :D
Listened to musique concrète lately, maybe to much... ;-)
