I can also say that the iRig Midi is great, but the connector seems a bit loose or "wiggly" in the slot of an Ipad 1. Perhaps iRig midi was tested with iPad 2?
Also, last night the iRig midi would not supply power to the iPad 1. Everything else worked fine, except for the iPad not receiving power.
Can anyone else verify the same on their own iPad version 1 or 2?
Really love that you've provided a midi thru - not the case for Alesis IO Dock.

Have to say the connector with an iPad 2 is not the best either. The iRig MIDI doesn't sit flush with the edge of the ipad 2. I've not had a problem with this myself but why they couldn't make it sit flush I don't know.
I bought a cheap arse Tuesday, third party £5 camera connection kit from ebay. It's better made & fits much better than the iRig MIDI. For what it costs it really should be a lot better than this.
Still, works a treat so I'm happy with it. Just not with the fit & price I paid.

IK has stated that the reason it isn't flush is on purpose to make room for any "bumpers" that may be attached to the phone.Dogboy73 wrote:Have to say the connector with an iPad 2 is not the best either. I would have preferred a snug fit with some kind of supplied adapter for the bumper situation myself.

iRig MIDI is designed to work with iPads that have bumpers. So if you don't have bumpers on your iPad there will be a little bit of wiggle room, but it will still look fine.
@Exit Zero That is strange behavior for it not to charge your iPad. Please contact our Tech Support so we can help you get this straightened out.

What the hell is a bumper?! And what if you don't have one on your phone/iPad?!
...... And why is the build quality a bit gash ..... And why is it so expensive for what it is?! And why do I care when it does exactly what it says on the tin?

Seems good quality to me. Could you describe what about it seems "a bit gash"?Dogboy73 wrote:...... And why is the build quality a bit gash
Expensive in comparison to what? Line6 MIDImobilizer? Yamaha i-MX1?Dogboy73 wrote: ..... And why is it so expensive for what it is?!
Maybe you need to drink some peppermint tea. I find it very calming.Dogboy73 wrote:And why do I care when it does exactly what it says on the tin?

Hello Fellow Kvrarians!!!
Could anyone please kindly confirm if they are using the iRig MIDI successfully with the newest iPhone 4 S.
I got mine just a couple of days ago and purchased iRig MIDI. Connected the device into the slot and nothing happened... Downloaded the iRig MIDI recorded app, installed, connected the device and it does not show as its there at all
Contacted IK and they said it might be the device but it might be the phone too, so was wondering if anyone experienced similar issues with iRig MIDI and iPhone 4S...
So device is not being recognized at all, also how should the procedure work? Do I get any notifications on the phone when the device gets connected, or would I only see it's connected properly in iRig MIDI recorded app?
IK!? Please make your start up guides more clear!!!
Many thanks for your help!
Mike

Hi ObiK
Thanks for your help, but I have already tested the rig on a couple of different iphones and it did not work, so I have returned this one and should be getting a replacement today.
I'll let you know how it went
Best

You could as welljust send it back, get a refund and buy a Tascam iU2. That should be a way better choice in any case.

Hi guys!
I got the replacement and it works fine. However I experience lots of issues with the free version of iOS Sampletank.
It gives distorted sound, then when trying to change the output to B (from A - whatever that means
as I do get distorted sound it craszhes!
@Sascha
thank you for the heads up. this really looks worth investing in, especially that it will work on a PC! amazing!

Just got the irig midi today and was hoping to trigger my doepfer dark energy from littlemidi machine and step poly arp on my ipad 2. I spent a while fiddling with various settings but with no success. I switched the ipad off then back on. Tried it with and without the usb psu connected.
I then connected the irig to my iphone 4s and it was recognised straight away and i've spent the last few hours playing with it.
I can't work out what the problem with the ipad is. It is running the exact same ios as the iphone 6.1
Any tips/help would be welcome.
Thanks
Iwan

If connecting it after you start the app (or vice versa) doesn't do the trick (and this is not an issue unique to iRig MIDI unfortunately) you may want to contact support too so you have all bases covered and they will help you out. http://www.ikmultimedia.com/support
