Its amazing how many good freebies nowadays are. I voted for pq33. But i use also soneq and splineeq which are fantastic. Throw in ddmf iieq pro for 29 usd and you''ll never need another eq.

downloaded SonEQ awhile ago and still haven't gotten around to using it (I just use the EQ that comes with Logic); but this thread has inspired me. I have to mix something tonight and I will use SonEQ exclusively. thanks for the reminder.

I've been using ReaEQ from the Reaper Plugin set for a long time now, I haven't tested many other EQs, but that's mostly because I am very satisfied with ReaEQ and the few I have tried weren't very good. I will check out SonEQ though.

Equilibre
But average on CPU, but complete.
EasyQ
Lighter on CPU and easy.
And...
Free SplineEQ
My favourite. A bit limited, just 4 bands. But due is the free version. With spectral view in real time.
Have a good day

okay, I messed around with it for awhile last night. very nice. on the track I was doing it worked really well on synths and drums. wasn't really appropriate for the percussion or vocal tracks as my mic is a piece of trash and needs some serious surgical EQ (and SonEQ only has 3 knobs basically). really nice sounding: I found it pretty transparent if I left the drive and wow alone (and even when I messed with that section it was still pretty subtle), easy to dial in a nice sound. glad I read this thread, I'll be using it again.michael2 wrote:downloaded SonEQ awhile ago and still haven't gotten around to using it (I just use the EQ that comes with Logic); but this thread has inspired me. now i'm wondering if it would be in bad form to start similar threads for other plugs.

i find soneq to sound even better than the pultec i demoed from other companies.. the low end boost with just a little of drive sound almost like a 2500 $$ hardware eq i had, the high band sound good too.
