The video was enough for me. That's much better than anything I've gotten from Rolands or Axons. I'm getting a G2M for now and then immediately getting the Fishman when it comes out later this year.

can you tell me why you choose the G2M? Have you tried it? is it good?

The Sonuus is not polyphonic, so it will not work with chords. I can assure you that the GI-09 will not work as well as the GI-20 for triggering VSTi's. I've already owned the GR-1, GR-30, 33, and I've owned the 55 three times. I've also had three YouRocks. Nothing available today works as well as the GI-20, except the Axon which is even better, or a ZTar.

The Roland GR stuff always works well "in the box" but poorly when triggering external MIDI.

This is a GOOD unit.

I have a slightly earlier version, and it works great.
Mine even has a mono audio-to-MIDI converter built in for MIDI flute, voice, etc.

I two have owned a GR1, GR30 and a GR09
The 30 actually triggered better for me then the 09. If anything the 09 was the lets dummy it down for everyone and take all control away from the user version.

Rolands - usually good tracking with internal sounds, but sloppy with external.
Axon's - best for use with external hardware synths, or VST's (if you have a low-latency interface to the computer).
GI-20 - fairly usable with external.
VG-99 - good internal sounds and guitar / instrument modeling - practically worthless with external.

i heard there are 3 versions Sonnus G2M version 1 and 2 (improvement in speed) and the new model Sonnus I2M Musicport which is optimised USB interface for even faster MIDI performance.taken from site. perhaps this will be enough to record midi so i can then assign vst instrument to play back. I'm not interested in playing in realtime..because of this reason i thought any of these devices would be up for the job.

The GI-20 was in production for quite a long time (at least 6 years). There is no major flaw. I'm on my second one (sold the first thinking a GR-33 could do external and internal well) and it's doing fine.

They told me that the i2M has a faster processor than even the G2M version 2 but that it doesn't make a difference in tracking speed. I'd go for the i2M if I were you, I'm only going for the G2M because it's cheaper.

Well i've gone with a yourock midi guitar until the fishman pick up turns up...but it better be good cos right now i am very very pleased with my yourock....the thing is brilliant, i've played for 20yrs so i found it easy to adapt!!! Anyway i will not return to a keyboard!
So happy i never took some of the expensive options advice! But appreciated away. This does what i want. Shame some people didn't get on with it. I feel lucky!

I absolutely hated the you rock. I and several others here had serious issues with string triggers not operating properly. I also hated the neck and dental floss "fretboard strings" as well people around here were not quite pleased with the mafia techniques used when general concerns of the unit were brought up.

As far as the GI 20 it was discontinued for lack of sales. Roland knows their market who will buy what and within what price range. They looked and looked at why's and they found out most guitarists didin't want a rackmount anything. They also looked at gr sales thru the years. The more they dummied down the interface/pedal board the more sales they had.

Have you seen the new you rock guitar in this video namm 2012? at 0:52 seconds in its hanging on the wall...will be available in a few months...also has a monophonic mode option.
