Same for the Pulse 2 at that shop:

Looks like all unreleased synths get that price...

I'm loving the audio demos of the oscillator functions

When it's time for my next HW synth it'll be hard to choose between this and one of the big'uns from the MFB range.

STEP AWAY FROM THE METALIZER!!! LAY OF THE BRUTILIZER (or whatever the Hell it's called!!). Would be nice to hear some demos where we're not hearing the demonstrators pushing those specialist dials up to number 11 all the time!!! :x Yes, yes. We know it screams like a bastard (to borrow a phrase from Dave Spiers of GMedia). Now lets hear it sing for crying out loud!! :-o

A first contact at NODE 2012 (Switzerland), followed by a gig action:

Yep, that's more like it  Some nice sounds in there. I like the lead sound on the performance part. Very retro, very 'stand-out' (I think the tech-heads call that 'cutting through a mix'). You can hear how this thing is very capable tonally & will sit in the mix very nicely I think ..... and if doesn't BRUTILIZE THE BASTARDO!!!! :x  It's like, 'can you hear me? ...... WHAT ABOUT NOWWWWW!!!

A good synth should cover the whole spectrum of human emotion. :hihi:

I think they have what looks like a winner to me!

I'm no expert, but nobody has mentioned that when you control an analog with digital midi, you can get artifacts. I couldn't use my Voyager rackmount because every keyboard I controlled it with produced zippering artifacts from the Voyager. Now if I'd had a $3,000 version with full keyboard, or a Phatty with full keyboard, I could have avoided the zippering. I didn't go that route partly because I don't like wheels, and partly because I didn't have that kind of cash. But any analog synth that's controlled by midi will be subject to zippering coming from the midi resolution (or lack thereof).

The new Moog could have this problem because people will control it with midi pitch and mod wheels, and these can produce midi stepping artifacts.

This beast will not exhibit any artifacts, if only because the option to control it from an external midi controller doesn't exist. It's the real deal for a good price. I'm in the (I suspect) minority camp in that I don't require patch memory. I would prefer a full keyboard Phatty if it offered other left-hand controllers, because then I'd have the option to control midi parameters from the DAW if desired. But the Moogs are strictly tied to wheel controllers. Pretty frustrating.

The bad: what I don't like right away is the two-octave keyboard. Three octaves is an absolute minimum for me, and 4 is better. Can't say yet what the build quality is like. Also, don't like wheels. People need a choice of modular left-hand controllers.

Forgive me if this has been answered already, but would I be able to draw notes in my DAW and have it play on the Minibrute?

It says it has USB Midi-In/Out, so could I just hook up the USB cable, draw in the notes in my DAW's piano roll, thus giving me two hands to tweak parameters while recording back into the DAW?

I feel like the answer is yes, but I've never owned a hardware synth before, so I figured I should ask...

I wonder if the it crackles and pops when you turn the resonance knob, like other clones of this filter do.
FYI so does the original.
This is supposed to be more accurate to what he originally intended than anything that was previously released, as said by his "fishing buddy" who was demoing the Minibrute at the show.
