So, a question for those who can't get Synth1 to work wrapped with vstau: are you on Lion? Is it an upgrade or a clean install?
Why I'm asking this? I was able to run fine Synth1 on Lion installed on top of Snow Leopard, since then I did a clean install and now it doesn't work anymore as audio unit.

Just in case anyone is experiencing problems with using the WRITE function or having Ableton Live crash everytime you try to save a set containing Synth1 - I can confirm that deleting the jp.daichi.synth1.plist file solved the problem for me and all works fine now. Thanks for the solution to this.100F wrote:Hey guys... this is my first time posting here...
i just wanted to let you know that i found a way to fix the problem with the "WRITE" function crashing daws...
First, if you have synth one already installed and its crashing your daw everytime you click write you must delete the following file:
USER >Library >Audio >Preferences > jp.daichi.synth1.plist
Then after that, Synth1 will reset to factory settings. After which you can start setting up your personal bank folders... BUT you have to make sure that each of your Preset folders doesnt have a name which is longer than 23 characters (including spaces)
for some strainge reason if you name your folders with names longer than 23 chars synth1 will crash upon summoning the write function.
I'm happy as i finally have a fully working instance of my long awaited favorite synth....
Greets!
btw... whats the best way to submit this as a bug to mr ichido toda?
Only difference I've found is that the .plist file can be in one of a few locations depending on your machine - on my laptop it was in users >library >preferences >jp.daichi.synth1.plist and on my desktop HD >library >preferences >jp.daichi.synth1.plist
After deleting the .plist file you'll need to browse to your presets folders again.

Hi and welcome ak1982.
When asking for help it is always best to provide as much info as possible.
For example what did you see written in the error window when you tried to unzip it but it didnt work and what was in the pop up window from ProTools ?

Well, I only just saw this but it's good to know. I just tried it on snow leopard and it seems fine, installed all the presets using their original bank names rather than just numbering them, changed the skin, sounds great. Added it to my website.

cool, I've advised people to stick to less that 23 characters when they load them up and that seems to cure it. I assume they dont need to delete the plist if they do that to start with?dewington wrote:Just in case anyone is experiencing problems with using the WRITE function or having Ableton Live crash everytime you try to save a set containing Synth1 - I can confirm that deleting the jp.daichi.synth1.plist file solved the problem for me and all works fine now. I found that when I saved a Live project, when I reopened it, the preset wasnt being saved in Synth 1. has anyone else had this problem? Live forgot to remember what preset I had been using. However racking it up and saving the rack seemed to fix that, next time it was right. In fact even grouping and then ungrouping it did the trick.

I tried to install Synth1 on Leopard (10.5.8) and neither Garageband, Reaper nor Audacity finds it.
If I understood the instructions right Synth1 should simply show up in any DAW after putting the .vst file into the VST directory (which is the case, Synth is identified correctly as a VST app in Finder and I did restart the apps of course).
Has anyone got Synth1 running on Leopard and how?
I also tried VSTAU manager (v0.2rc2) but it crashes when starting so no luck here.
(Please no suggestions to upgrade to Snow Leopard or Lion)

I have downloaded both the plug-in and the au manager. When I run the au manager it shows an error next to Synth1. When i click on it, it says could not load bundle executable. I have tried to empty my VST folder only leaving synth one but it still doesn't work.

Your VST will never load in an AU manager.cysoko wrote:i share the same problem!! have u manage to have it working at the end???? anyone else have any advice pls?chris_O_11 wrote:hi all,

I don't think Synth1 has an AU yet.
I only have the VST, which will only load in hosts that support VST plugins.
It won't load in Garageband or Logic, Mainstage or AU manager.
Try the Reaper demo here, and see if it loads the VST.

Check the first post in this thread.......
I converted the VST to AU with the conversion tool linked in the first post and have been using Synth1 in Logic express 9 since it appeared in Mac form.

ftech, did you have to do anything extra to get it to work? Wrapping it with VSTAU works fine with Garageband but it fails validation in Logic Pro and won't load.
I've used the precompiled r117 app and the current version compiled from source but the outcome is the same. I'm on 10.6.8.ERROR: Parameter values are different since last set - probable cause: a Meta Param Flag is NOT set on a parameter that will change values of other parameters.
