Nice cat pic! She looks like a Diva, ergo analog! With some digital help at hand.

+1

Though I'll admit to being somewhat of an "Urssie".

I'm not Urs fanboy by any stretch, I dislike Zebra from the bottom of my heart and I think Uhbiks sound horribly metallic (btw. Sound on Sound reviewer said something along the same lines) but I just love Diva and Ace. They're the best. So there.
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

When? The actual article say, of Uhbik-D alone:

"The one thing that I did notice was a slightly metallic tone to the delayed signal, unless there was some judicious use of the filters provided to slightly damp the delayed sound."

and that's it. (and no, describing the kinds of sound that Uhbik-S makes as metallic doesnt count as a nehative, thats what frequency shifting does).

Holy @!#$ing crap!

I can't believe what's going on in this thread. I started it a couple of weeks ago and then left it alone. Now I come back and it's exploded.

It's gone completely off track but I guess it's good exposure for Urs.

Remember, this thread wasn't a thread about digital vs. analog. This thread was mainly a question of how much you value Diva as a synth.

If you were to line all your synth software boxes up against a wall, along with your collection of analog synths, someone held a gun to your head and said "smash all but one", would you have a hard time deciding between Diva and some of your analog synths as the last one? (Remember for this thought experiment to work, you have to pretend that you'll never be able to get your hands on any of the smashed synths ever again).

Post

I already did sma... er... sell all my analogs (well, except the oldest one in the basement that nobody would buy anyway...

Diva can do more of the types of things I want to do than any other single synth I ever had could do, hardware or software. But there's still some things we want Urs to add! :hihi:
