Just for balance - why I never draw the curtains (view from Tokyo 'council flat'):

Mind you, the view inside is not much better - creative clutter:

This is currently my practice area setup. On the left my trusty Yamaha clp370,
on the right a Kurzweil pc3x connected to the Yamaha so I can use all those sounds while playing on the Yamaha.

What is that little coffin on the ground? :-o
And the keyboard on the left with the reverse color keys?

Looks like a Theremin.

Uh, you are right... ;)

There are actually 4 theremin in that picture. The wooden 'coffin' as noted, plus 3 more just behind/under the tripod leg in the foreground. The white object at the bottom is a MIDI Theremin. Sitting on top (red & black) are two toy theremin (working) that came from hobby magazines.

The keyboard is a Korg SAS-20 (Super Accompaniment System) salvaged from the junk and resprayed. The reverse keys are the accompaniment ones. Most things that I make myself, or give an overhaul, end up candy coloured.

Thanks for the explanation knockman ;)

That is what a real home studio looks like! Nice little Paia system in the corner!
I can never understand how people with cleans studios can get anything done. Where are all your wires?!

I haven't got a view since I had to give up my room with a view (of tree tops :hihi: ) to my kids.

Yours, is a very inspiring view, has to be said.
I'm stuck in the basement myself. Ella took my old room.

Not quite on par with the vast landscapes posted earlier, but this is the view from where I live, in the centre of a major European city:

Image

The flats were subsidised by the city and we pay amazingly low rent as a result. In winter (i.e. now) the view isn't as great though. The flats on the other side of the trees are hideous, with industrial orange window frames. The trees are literally a few metres from our windows (the flats downstairs have a small terrace).

I daren't post pics of what it looks like inside. Creative clutter doesn't even get close to describing the piles of stuff that have accumulated. At least the cleaning man was in recently :)

This calls for a new thread:

The view from your studio window.

Who says I do  I sold my main business a few years ago, now I just do a bit of consulting. Actually I'm surprising disciplined, I'm pretty much 'task' based rather than working standard hours, sometimes I work 12 hours strait, sometimes just a few hours and then 'Guitar Time' ;-)
