I have a chinese mobile that i use to create a adhoc network.
Then connected my ipad and itouch to network.
Turned off my phones wifi.
The ios devices stayed connected.
Tested midi with littlemidi and tb tiny midi stuff and it worked.
If Android used the same wifi midi as ios devices then you should be able to connect an android device to a ios device and use the ios devices midi input and output to the android device. Piggyback style.
Any programmers out there this should work right!!!

An android app to test it out.
