Looks like a good candidate to substitute Alchemy's granular osc
Too bad it needs dongle :(

Post

No, it doesn't need a dongle.................

As Uncle E noted, Cubase supports Vst3 since version 4. All plugins with three vertical lines to the left of their names in your Cubase's plugin list are Vst3.

Steinberg says: "Internet connection for license activation" the same as Sequel, for example.

Cool! I'll edit my earlier posts about it.

I like the sound and price. Guess I'll have to use VSThost until Sonar adds VST3 support, though.
I wish I could sing as well as the voices inside my head...

Haven't heard of that before... Is VSThost an interface that will allow it to be run in Sonar?

Is this it?

Thats it. :)

VST Host is a stand alone application that hosts VST plugins like savihost.

Im not sure if it can be used as "wrapper" for VST3 plugin within a DAW like Sonar/Reaper etc.? (Hermann, are you listening... :hihi: ). It may be possible if a streamlined .dll based version was developed?

Some cool aspects to it are, its donationware, VST3 compatible and has bridge versions so you could run 64bit only plugs on 32bit.

Padshop doesnt require a hardware USB dongle, but it will require to install an elicencer app to host the licence "key" which you can download from Steinberg's site.

Essentially what this does is put and activate the key on your hard drive rather than a usb dongle. Arturia uses this as well so the elicencer will host all licence keys in one location.

Yes, it stores the license in that one component that has the highest failure rate of all components in a computer.

Anyway, 50 euro is a good price for this. Wonder if it will end up in Cubase...

Post

I'm guessing it'll be bundled with Cubase 7. Certainly not going to get it just because of price. It needs to be useful in my music, so will there be a demo?

Post

sounds interesting, any info if it will support sample importing?

Right... :hihi: though if your hard drive goes, Padshop is probably the least of your worries.

One would think you would be able to download another key should something happen so long as its registered. I guess that needs some clarification.

It doesn't allow sample import .

I bet that they plan to sell expansion packs with new samples.
