Got the Tiny Terror, sounds lovely and it seems to suggest "buy my big brother ThunderVerb"... but I already spent the remaining credits on the Jet City 100 (:shock:) and the Modern Tube Lead.

Oh they come extremely close!! I've got both versions of the Tiny Terror and these things just plain old work!!

Glad someone else chimed in since I am for obvious reasons going to appear biased... I have had the Tiny Terror before the virtual version existed. I adore the real amp (though I bought before the hardwired version existed too, so I have a Korean-built original version but it is AWESOME). This IK model is eerily close in sound to the hardwired I've heard and as good as mine, but without all the "get up and move the mic 1/8 inch AGAIN" issues which is a big bonus. The real one, even at the 7W setting can get loud so you get that other obvious bonus too.

peter, just to let you know because you have the same weber as me...if you want to really get the most out of your TT get that jet city iso cab. I was torn between the TT and Egnater Rebel when I bought the Rebel and the reason I went the way I did was that the TT is really a one trick pony (it does that one trick awesome though)..it does hi-gain awesome

Anyhow, the iso cab with weber is a good match with my 100 watt boogie, my 50 watt jet city and even with my 2 watt frenzel. I made a better support system for my mic in the iso cab so gravity doesn't lower the mic over time, I haven't opened the door to the iso cab in well over a month (I only bought it late dec) so gone is that problem.

Dean suggests that I add another mic to the iso cab (really a simple mod but I see other conflicts space wise). Either I am still going to build an iso cab in the spring or possibly at a later date just buy another jet city because 330 bux just isn't that big of a deal and two would be killer (of course that means another weber too).

You can still hear the speaker in the iso cab but it's so muffled it really doesn't matter. I have yet to try other speakers but the eminence in the iso cab is decent...I play far more now than I have for years because I simply love the whole experience much more (fwiw I have the treble boost on the mini mass at 3db)..I think you might like that iso cab

Oh Hink you not only think I might like it, you must have sixth sense and KNOW I do. I've been watching your posts on it and have been VERY interested in that for a while now. I wanted to compare it to the Randall which I've heard is a bit boxy (even for iso cab) but haven't seen any direct comparisons.

I know it would be awesome with a cranked TT with or without the Weber. I could run the TT full bore/full gain at 15W with the iso cab where I am (in a house and I already play drums here without issue). But combined with the Weber when I may need it or for larger amps, it would probably be amazing. It isn't even that expensive in the grand scheme of things.

Thanks for the info on the mod to fix the mic creep issue. That's good info. I'd like to try one with Celestion V30 but at this point I'd have to cannibalize an Avatar cab I have to do so

I could also put my Cannabis Rex into it, since I still didn't put that into my Blues Junior...

What do you mean "both versions"? The real and the simulation?

All the AT Orange simulations have become some of my favorites in AT3.

Question though, maybe you can answer, maybe you can't. All presets made with the Terror is with the PPC112 and the Custom Shop suggests that as the complementary cab. Orange also has a Tiny Terror cab. I had figured that one would have been the standard cab for the Tiny Terror. How come? In the end I got them both and even though the PPC112 has a clearer sound I do prefer the Terror to the cab.

I had the real one for a while a few years ago and recorded with it. I wouldn't say they sound the same exactly but that would be difficult as I was going through a different "real" speaker cabinet,etc. the real one had more midrange and was smoother (going through my particular speaker cab). I haven't heard the new hand wired version. At the time I thought that my Peavy c30 could get a similar sound so I sold the TT. I've been demoing all the IK orange amps and cabs this weekend and liked the TT and ad30 best of all. I'll probably pick it up today. Over all I've really been loving Amplitube. I always record with an amp sim with the thought that I might replace it later with one of my real amps. That's been happening less and less these days. I still like going through a real fender with a Keeley compressor in front of it better than a sim but for most thing the sim is fine.

I haven't been to Custom Shop since it came out because my music software is on a computer that is not connected to the internet, so I couldn't authorize.

Was not the highest priced thing in Custom Shop 20 dollars when IK introduced CS? Or am I mistaken?

I'm gonna get me a new Valve Amp head as I've never had one, only solid state. I have my eye on a few but I'd really appreciate some opinions here. My local Music store is pretty crap so I cant test them myself.

I'd consider the Orange TT but its a bit out of my price range. I've been demoing the JCA20H in Amplitube & going by some of the higher quality youtube vids it sounds pretty close to the real thing & I have to say I like the sound of it.

Blackheart if you want natural power tube distortion, Jet City if you want high gain, and Fender if you want versatility and effects. I don't think there's an amp under $500 that can do the high gain Soldano thing better than the Jet City but I suggest getting the Fender if you're not into that.
