Hello people! First of all, im new in this great forum. My name is Cristobal, im from Argentina. My english is pretty basic :(
Actually a have a Midi Controller and a very basic notebook (centrino, 512 RAM), im using 9 plugins in "Live Professor" VST host. I have no problem with this (believe it or not)
Here is my question:
Im looking for a (free) VST that let me routing internally the virtual instruments with an especif configuration.
Like this:
MIDI Controller >>> host with a virtual midi out / router / mapper >>>>
in the "program" 1, refers to a VSTi with the patch to use
in the "program" 2, refers to another or the same VSTi with the patch to use
in the "program" 3, split 2 vsti in the same program, etc..

it does exist something like this?

It seems like you could just load those 3 plugins, load the fxp patches, and save it as a template which would collect all needed data.

I think that's what you're saying, what exact plugins are you using?

IMO, it's more like a Free Reason's Combinator or Phrazor what he wants.

Maybe the "Live Professor" DAW has the option to split synths across the keyboard or maybe your MIDI synth has the function to split midi channels.

I dont know any free VST that does that, but Reaper has some custome Templates (Using the MIDI Note filter)that can do that, and Reaper has an Unlimited Demo as far as I know, maybe you should try that.

In spanish: "Tal vez Reaper sea la solución gratuita que buscas, tiene un template descargable que divide los instrumentos en el teclado, no es un efecto, es un Host, ojalá y te sirva, suerte"

Saludos.

Cheers! :D

I know that Cristobal's English is a bit basic. I "think" I am looking for about the same thing that he is. If not, I guess I should start another thread?

Let me try to rephrase what I think he wants - and what I need as they may be one in the same.

I want to take an output from a MIDI master controller and route it to a VSTi host. I don't know the "Live Professor" that he was speaking of. I've been using Chainer for years - have not had a problem with it, but it is very limiting for live work with a master controller.

As a host, Chainer will load up to 10 VSTi's on 10 different (or the same) MIDI channels. Each can have up to 10 plug-ins (hence the "chain"). To actually change these programs, you have to get your mouse and click on "load" and then select an .fxp or .fxb to do anything. Granted, there is a latency because of the load time, but wouldn't it make more sense to have a router that would change VST #9 to prog 86 at the same time changing VST #6 to prog 22 all by calling up program #24 off of your MIDI controller??? That way, each of your 128 programs on your master controller would be telling a router to basically "route".

Splits and stuff are usually controlled within the individual VSTi - but that would be a nice feature to have - as would an input from a second MIDI controller. For example, on prog #10 route my bottom keyboard to the Pianoteq VSTi and route the top keyboard to NI's B4. On prog #11, route the bottom keyboard as the lower manual of B4 and the top kbd as the upper manual.

I've been searching the internet for years for such a program (free or not). Cristobal's post was the closest that I could find to what I am looking for. I really think that is what he means as he is listing program numbers at the end of his post - and what he wants them to do.

I've tried a few DAW programs (like Reaper) but they still don't have this routing feature. I'd think that LOTS of us live performance musicians would want such a thing...

:help:

@Hugh Jorgan : you need a modular host, you can can route all this kind of combinations with Host like Usine. there's some split modules and you can easily send different program changes on different track with the same preset manager. Test the Demo version and ask on our forum, i can help you if needed.

Thank you. I will try. I stumbled across Cantabile Performer too and dl'ed the demo. Haven't tried yet.

Hi
It was a bit hard to understand what you guys wanted at first but I think I get it.
Just to clear things up for LiveProfessor users. Route the midi the way you want it, load the sounds you want. Create splits, transpose etc. Click create new global snapshot for each setup
Add each snapshot to the cue list (like a play list) trigger each cue using midi.
That's what I would do....

Hi, sorry for ressurecting this old topic.

I am looking for a similar plugin.

I need a plugin that recieves the midi information from my keyboard and send this information to multiple channels. I'll illustrate:

I'm using miniHost Modular and Omnisphere inside. Inside Omnisphere I have a Multi with 8 patches. But i want to play only 1 patch alone, then play another one.

I know it is possible to do this with Ableton using the Instrument Rack, but Ableton drains too much CPU and I only use it when I need to run tracks.

So, if anyone knows something that can do this would be very helpful.

But doesn't Omni itself provide for that feature? (I think it is called 'live mode' but I'm at work with no access to Omni right now).

Is it possible to achieve what you need using the embedded piano roll module (which supports 15 individual MIDI channels as zones) of Minihost Modular?

You may also be able to make clever use of the free NoteMapper VST and MIDI Channel Filter VST plug-ins as well.

If you are really feeling clever, Piz MIDI VSTs can be used creatively for all kinds of needs.

FreePiano VSTiis a very powerful virtual keyboard instrument; lots of tweakable settings plus a scripting engine.
