Flume String Sound?

How to make that sound...

This may not be the best forum for this question, because the song in question doesn't fall neatly under the domain of electronic music (if anyone can think of a better forum/music-based-website to ask this question on, let me know). But I've been listening to this song 'Flume' off of Bon Iver's first album and there's a sound in it; it's a buzzing string sound, sort of reminds me of a string being bowed poorly . . . I can't tell what it is. It appears at the following times in the song:

0:29, 0:43, 1:34, 1:48, 2:16-2:49

I was wondering what you think that sound is, and how I can recreate it? Thanks

I think you're right. I've only heard an eBow used on electric guitars, but I just searched and found this:

The sounds are very similar. Thanks a lot! Now to find $99.

from my understanding of how this record was made, there were barely any electronics used. my guess is its a guitar sound manipulated somehow in a sampler.

From where does your "understanding of how this record was made" come from? I'm just curious, because I do like a lot of what was done with it and how it was done. Like are there any specific interviews you can perhaps point me to? And as for the specific sound on Flume, the video I posted above has me pretty convinced that the sound comes from an acoustic guitar being played with an eBow. If you check out 0:30-0:40 it sounds (to me) almost identical to the way the strings sort of "buzz" in the Bon Iver song

Thank you? I always feel the whole "Google is your friend" thing can be incredibly condescending and passive-aggressive . . . I was not asking you to search for me, I was merely asking if there were "any specific interviews you can perhaps point me to" in what I thought was just a spirit of mutual personal interest. Maybe I'm just reading your attitude wrong? I'm sorry. Anyway, your second link in particular was helpful, I've never heard of soundhow before and it looks like a really interesting site - thanks!
