IK Rockin' Deal of the Week: Tiny Terror For A Tiny Price in the AmpliTube Custom Shop

Blackheart if you want natural power tube distortion, Jet City if you want high gain, and Fender if you want versatility and effects. I don't think there's an amp under $500 that can do the high gain Soldano thing better than the Jet City but I suggest getting the Fender if you're not into that.

I'm into playing anything from blues right up to Thrash/progressive Metal & I always like to include some guitar in my electronic music productions too. So I'm sorta stuck now between the Jet city & the Super Champ. I like the versatility of the Super Champ but I also like the simplicity of the Jet City. Thanks Uncle E for your input.

Get the Super Champ. As much as I absolutely adore the Jet City, it's not versatile enough to cover all the bases you're talking about.

With the Super Champ being a hybrid valve/digital modelling amp, would you say it still maintains the dynamic response & warmth of a valve amp even when using the modelling channel? Sorry for bothering you with more questions its just that I really cant get a chance to check these amps out myself. Another reason I'm still considering the JCA20H (apart form the fact I'm loving the sound of it in Amplitube) is that at the moment I can get it for £100 less than the Super Champ. Oh & it doesn't hurt that the Jet City is designed by Soldano.

Just to be fair & sorta get things back on track with the OP. I got the Orange TT for Amplitube at this great price & it truly does ROCK!

I haven't been to Custom Shop since it came out because my music software is on a computer that is not connected to the internet, so I couldn't authorize.

Was not the highest priced thing in Custom Shop 20 dollars when IK introduced CS? Or am I mistaken?

The Custom Shop supports offline authorization now. The prices on dual channel amps were raised to 30 Gear Credits. It makes sense when you consider that these are in fact 2 amps in one and require twice the work to model. This price change is only on true dual channel amps such as the SLO-100, Thunderverb 200, and German Gain. Amps with a bright channel and such are still 20 Gear Credits.

+1 And you've every right to do so I did have a.... weak attempt at addressing the original topic . But I'll have another stab & vouch that the Tiny terror is another very fine addition to the Amplitube line up & an absolute steal at this price so SNAP IT UP PRONTO!

It does sound pretty close. I got my tiny terror modded by Jules from Jules Amps http://www.juleamps.com/the_amps/terror.html

so I like the real thing a bit more, but this is cool.

I actually prefer the JCA20H over the Super Champ, I only recommend the Super Champ because of all the styles you're doing. Sorry to not steering you in a clear direction.

Well I'm actually leaning more towards the JCA20H because most importantly I just wanna get my hands on my first decent proper tube amp. And besides I've got Amplitube to cover everything I need Actually had another go through all the amps in AT3/Fender lastnight & for a plugin Amplitube really does sound amazing. The Fender Super Sonic is reallll nice & pretty diverse too.

The Clean channel on the SLO-100 is awesome. I think it's the best clean channel we offer, really amazing dynamics, even better than the Metal Clean T, which by the way, is sold as a separate amp than the Metal Lead T channel.

Noooo! We've moved away from the old "flexi-models" of AmpliTube 2, in favor of models that are down-to-the-detail true to the original hardware. That unprecedented level of accuracy and realism is the very reason top amp craftsmen like Soldano, Fender, and Orange choose to partner with us.

If we redo anything, I would think it would be updating older flexi-models to the new standard of AmpliTube 3, not the other way around... who knows, maybe you may even see some older models be reborn as fully modeled dual channel amps?

Just so people are aware, I bought the Orange Tiny Terror amp and also the Officially Certified Orange Tiny Terror™ Combo Cabinet Model, which I figured would be the "correct" matching cabinet. Afterwards, when I tried the Custom Shop\Tiny Terror presets in Amplitube 3, they are all asking for the "1x12 PPC 112 cabinet" and I receive the usual "missing models will not be loaded" warning message.
Of course it's my mistake (and not a big deal), but it's an easy one to make and I thought I'd mention it.
Incidentally the amp is awesome!
