Hi Guys!

This is Seun from the Sound Sonic team, based in Shoreditch, London. We've just launched our new plugin store and would love to hear from you guys on what your favourite plugin brands are. We're giving away a free VST and 250+ Prime Loops drum hits on our site, which you're all more than welcome to!!

We'd also love to hear about other brands which float your boat. If not listed here please leave a comment. It would be nice to hear your thoughts.

Before they abandoned Kore, my favorite was Native Instruments for its variety and quality. Now I'm not sure if I have a favorite. There are many I like, from various companies, like Korg & AAS.

From the list, I voted NI, simply because I use Komplete and Maschine Mikro. From that list I'd also vote for FXpansion and Ohmforce.

There are too many missing from the list, but off the top of my head I'd also go for Spectrasonics, Linplug, Rob Papen, ReFX, SugarBytes, Sonic Charge and AudioDamage. It's almost impossible to pick one stand-out plugin developer.

Waves plugins are essential for me, can't stand mixing without them.

Some smaller companies, a few bigger ones. FXpansion (which I ticked above), u-he, HG Fortune, Camel Audio for instruments; Izotope, Rob Papen, Team DNR for effects. IK Multimedia for both.

Interesting, so the abandonment of Kore was quite a negative for you?

I agree with you on AAS, if you get a chance to check their percussion synth do so! Top guys too.

Voted other. Spectrasonics is def #1 in my book.

Love Rob Papen, U-He, and Lennar Digital. Big fan of NI's stuff as well.

Woo, Yeah Komplete and Mashine - a force to be reckoned with!! Yeah agreed, the extensive list would be HUGE!

You say that, but folk do get trapped with one/two plugin brands - better the devil you know maybe : )

Very much a negative, yes. They compounded it with the WAY they went about it, too. The whole thing, and their behavior since then, demonstrated how out of touch NI is with their users and their own products. I'll stop here so as not to hijack this thread.

I'd love to try it, but I'm poor and it'd be a tease. I have my disagreements with how they're doing things, too, but nothing near as severe as NI's Kore & PR disaster.

From the list I voted PSP as they offer great customer service and excellent plug-ins.
D16 are also very good.
The following are not in the list.
Camel Audio,Fabfilter,Quikquak,Admiral Quality and Audio Damage are also excellent to deal with.To name a few :)

NI for instruments because of their versatility.
PSP Audioware for effects because they offer good product plus very friendly & helpful people.

A touchy subject but the quality still remeains, such a strong position but with a big change that would have been hard for any company to manage successfully - Hindsight who knows - still producing the goods though!

Yeah PSP, they're pretty solid all round, did you catch trhe 48track mixer app for the iPad demonstrated in NAMM? PSP was one of the first companies for Plugins to use in association with ipad - it's for a reason!
