Lovely. Listened while quite tired, in the nice phones and reclined of course. Nodded off for a moment but fell back to awakeness with a jerk. Thanks for the nap ;)

Hehehe well I'll definitly take this as a compliment, as it's one of the goals I try to achieve when composing my ambient music: deep & complete mind numbness!

Subtle but powerful stuff. Lovely stuff in fact, it's got a slightly disturbing nerve to it.

Great job! listened to this track & a couple of others & i'm in for more.

Hmm, it sounds really cool, except that one of the sounds that's there all the time (not the high pitched one) is just a little bit too energetic in the midrange somewhere, which makes it really tiring to listen to on high volume. That's a problem, especially when the piece is this long. It has a ringing quality too it, and somewhere there (around 2k? just a guess) it's a just too much.

I had to turn it off, my ears were hurting. Now my speakers are fairly "revealing" in this sense. For reference no "pro" music (ie, stuff on records) have ever given me listening fatigue even when played really loud, so it's something to look into.

Well, thanks for listening and taking the time to feedback. It's the first time I hear this comment and to be honest, while I'm far away from being a mix or masteting engineer, I can't really hear that ringing thing you described and I have fairly good monitors and very high quality headphones. So this is very interesting. Did you listen directly from the SoundCloud player or the downloaded file? Cause here when I'm listenting to track on SoundCloud in streaming and then compare with the 320kbps mp3 file, there's a clear difference in the overall quality sound. The SoundCloud one being the worst, sounding indeed downgraded in the mids, with maybe that 'ringing' thing you are talking about. There's definitly a difference. I know the SoundCloud downgrades the uploaded tracks for streaming (down to 128kbps) so it can sometimes destroy the frequencies and general equalization.

Now, would it be a problem for you to download the file and give it another listen instead of streaming the track directly via the SC player, if you don't mind? See if there's a difference and if the original mp3 is easier & smoother for the ears? That would be appreciated.

Anyone else agrees or experiences this? Or if anyone can check and confirm this, with the player VS the downloaded file... I strongly suspect the SoundCloud player to be the probleme here.

Thanks folks for you time and help! :)

Well, "ringing" is perhaps not quite it, but it kind of is. Err...

I listened on Soundcloud (ie, streaming), I'll try downloading it and listening again!

Thanks alot for your time! I appreciate.

While listening to the player then the original file right away, there's such a huge difference in the general frequencies. The SoundCloud player, no matter what definitly sounds bad and compressed :(

Ok, so I definitely heard a real difference between the streaming version and the mp3. But the HQ 35mb mp3 still hurts my ears...

I did a quick EQ edit to the mp3, this sounds a lot better to my ears: http://www.zshare.net/audio/991170609a8d720b/

Note that I did some heavy EQ, it may have affected the other sounds quite a bit, but it really cleared up the "offensive" sound to my ears, while still retaining the atmosphere.
