Yes Voxengo are very good again, they are right up there with their software algorithms!

Just for my guidance, how does compare the Nomad Factory brickwall limiter to these already mentioned ?

It would be nice to have Elephant algos inside that L1 UI.peter.m.junior wrote:+1 for Elephant: it's one of the best limiters out there. Very transparent with lots of tweaking options.

Well, in the end I've bought both the No Limits and the Barricade limiters, total cost, £31 !!!! They are both fantastic!
My only gripe is with the Toneboosters Barricade, in that I'd of liked the gui to have the dials on it and not the flat looking sliders on the black background. After mentioning this to Jeroem Breebaart from Toneboosters, he said that in the next update the dials will be back, but also the user will be able to flip between the dials and the current gui that is there at the moment for more detailed tweaks!
But come on, for £50, Barricade would be worth it, but £12 !?!?!?!?!?! Just ridiculous value !!!!!

I've heard a lot of good things about TB Barricade so it seems it's time to actually check it out. Always good to have more options especially when it comes to limiting.

It's very transparent, and for just £12 it's all the more remarkable!
No Limits is also very good, and it's only £19!!!!

I'm looking for a 64bit brick wall limiter.Quite tempted by Barricade at the price it seems too good to be true.
I really like Pro-L demo but the price is steep.
Been trying the Barricade demo and trying to get sounds from it close to some of the Pro-L presets. Can't quite seem to get the same thump and loudness out of it.
But about £130 difference in the prices.
Any other opinions on Barricade or other recommendations

2 plugins from meldaproduction, both 64-bit:

P.S.: I bought Pro-L before I found out about these, so I'm still using Pro-L. Fully satisfied usere here... Not cheap but worth it!

Been playing a bit more with the Studio One limiter, it's not bad.
Might try using it a bit before I start spending anymore money

PSP Vintage Warmer 2
Not just a limiter, compression and saturation too. But you can tame it to just limit if you want. Comes with 3 different versions with differing CPU loads and latencies.

I believe they also make a pure limiter as well. Might save a few bucks if that's all you need. VM is amazing though, I can't (or at least don't want to) approach a mix without it.Resonator63 wrote:I have several PSP plug-ins they are good.AdmiralQuality wrote:PSP Vintage Warmer 2

I guess it all depends on what you need a limiter for.
If you want to create a different sound, VW is great.
If you need a brickwall limiter as final step in the production
process (to limit 'true' intersample peaks, do dithering,
perceptual noise shaping, and alike) other limiters may be
more suitable.

Don't think so, the limiter is called Xenon and its price is 100 $ higher than VW...AdmiralQuality wrote:I believe they also make a pure limiter as well. Might save a few bucks if that's all you need.

OldTimer http://www.pspaudioware.com/plugins/dyn ... ldtimerme/
Xenon http://www.pspaudioware.com/plugins/dyn ... psp_xenon/
And Vintage Warmer 2 http://www.pspaudioware.com/plugins/dyn ... gewarmer2/
VM 2 can be adjusted to make it a transparent limiter. Don't even get me started on "intersample peaks". An audio format where some signals are impossible is NOT an audio format I want anything to do with. If hardware can't interpolate the peak, so what? All the harmonics from clipping that fractional sample will be above Nyquist anyway -- AND IN THE ANALOG DOMAIN SO THEY WON'T ALIAS. But at any rate, if it happens at all, it's the hardware's fault. However I think in most applications/hardware this is an old wives' tail. (And we call these old wives, mastering engineers.)
