I am looking for VSTs that have the raw power of DIVA but are not so trance oriented (Sylenth, z3ta, etc.) Perhaps Vaz? Any other possibilities?

Probably the only other one that qualifies right is TimewARP2600. Raw and analog - as good as software can be.terriandralph wrote:I am looking for VSTs that have the raw power of DIVA but are not so trance oriented (Sylenth, z3ta, etc.) Perhaps Vaz? Any other possibilities?
Vaz, PolyAna, XILS3, impOSCar 2, Minimonsta, OP-X II & SugarBytes Unique are contenders you should also look at.
All of them are capable of some real great vintage analog growls, purrs and moans.

DIVA isn't just for trance music! I wouldn't even call it "trance oriented" because it's really not. Honestly I would have to say that Sylenth1 and z3ta+ are a lot more "trance oriented" than DIVA. But all 3 of those synths are capable of a hell of a lot more than Trance Leads and Supersaws!terriandralph wrote:I am looking for VSTs that have the raw power of DIVA but are not so trance oriented (Sylenth, z3ta, etc.) Perhaps Vaz? To Op : So Virtual Analog synths (aka substractive synthesis) :
With a Vintage vibe, the emulation side, each with its own character :
Xils-Lab Xils3, PolyKB II and Synthix (and their lite counterparts)
Korg Ms-20, Polysix, Legacy Cell and Monopoly
G-Force ImpOSCar, Minimonster
Vaz synths.
With a modern vibe, or a vibe of their own
D-Cam Synth Squad, Sylenth1,
AAS Ultra-Analog,
Novation V-Station,
U-he Ace
and to a certain extent CA Alchemy.
I think all these synths have dongle less demos, even if sometimes they are not so easy to find ( like the Korg ones ). So your best move might be to try them until you find the one(s) wich fit the best your taste/needs.

DIVA is not trance oriented at all. Who told you that?

Not sure exactly what you're after, and I'm obviously biased, but our synth kHs ONE has a no fuzz approach you might like.
<sales pitch>The sounds go well beyond trance, and we've gotten a good feedback on providing a sturdy analog sound but with a modern approach without really trying to mimic any old hardware.
So, while it might be similar to Diva in terms of being subtractive synthesis, it's easy to play around with and might give you some new inspiration at about half the price.

DCam Synth Squad is a bit in the same direction. They modelled the synth also after some ideas of analog hardware.
