To simplify (or not) Brad's life, let start a topic regrouping all the fancy ideas we have for the next release of Cantabile !

My first request is an iPad remote control (but I could nearly provide it to Brad ...)

Post

The loading of Cakewalk Instrument Definition Files is high on my list.

Also friendly names for MIDI ports.
Cantabile Peformer on Lenovo W530 i7 16Gb, Win7 x64. Halion Sonic 2, OPX Pro II, Korg Legacy Collection Digital, Omnisphere, Real LPC, Amplitube 3.

I need only two features to be happy! :-)

1) Automatic USB device recognition/reconnection
For example, when my MIDI keyboard or soundcard is disconected I must restart whole application to repair it. And that's really annoying for live use.

2) Aftertouch in MIDI assigments
I want to assign aftertouch parameter to any other parameter (typicaly pitch bend). It's very easy in VstBoard with its free routing, but impossible in Cantabile.

pchanez, you mentioned iPad remote control. not totally sure what your thought is on that, but there is an app called iDisplay (from ShapeServices.com) for the iPad that will basically turn your iPad into a wireless extended screen for your PC. I've used this for multiple gigs where i have my iPad (showing Cantabile) right in front of me while i play, and having my laptop off to the side. it can be done wirelessly (or wired) using a simple private network. works like a charm if that is what you are thinking about....

It is what I'm using as well... but the Cantabile inteface has not been develop for touch screen.

So my idea is to have something done for iPad, showing some information and bringing some functionalities in a more touch screen friendly mode

 I've been a bit lazy keeping this up to date...

I have no permission on this group to moderate. Not sure if I can set a posting to sticky... the ones I started became sticky because Brad changed thier state...
Best regards, TiUser
...and keep on jamming...
