I'm pretty excited about this. The huge increase in resolution and possible quad processor will really catapult music apps.

well Gizmodo have posted it, so by now, probably everywhere....Dogboy73 wrote:Where did you see this?
EDIT: as I hit submit the guy on Sky News mentioned and said, 'I reckon a new one of these could on it's way', holding up an iPad 2
Yeah most the fans and reviewers said that, but different market analyses still claim that it is their most succesful iPhone with regard to sales. Like this oneDogboy73 wrote: iPhone 4S was a big let down for many
So despite critics claiming the iPhone 4S was doomed to fail because it didn't have a new form factor, NFC support, or bear the iPhone 5 moniker, the iPhone 4S has proven to be the most successful smartphone that Apple has ever produced. AT&T seems to agree, releasing a statement that said that the iPhone 4S launch was their most successful iPhone launch ever.
An "iPad 2.5" might be just as successful to anything but fans with maybe-a-little-too-hyped expectations. The rumor sites is often filled with a tons of requested features that will not make it, so some disappointment seem inevitable. To put things in perspective, when the iPhone 4 launched last year, it set a record for Apple by racking up 600,000 pre-orders in a single day. Even though it's not the dramatically overhauled iPhone 5 many were hoping for, Apple's latest gadget has smashed the company's previous single day sales record by more than 66 percent. In terms of first day pre-orders, the iPhone 4S is the most successful product Apple has ever released.
Disappointment is inevitable for some. The iPad is a victim of it's own success. People expect the Earth. I very much doubt Apple will deliver because people just expect too much from the next incarnation of the iPad.IncarnateX wrote:An "iPad 2.5" might be just as successful to anything but fans with maybe-a-little-too-hyped expectations. I think that's a very good approach. Especially when you look at the 'jump' from iPhone 4 to 4S. Not so much in it so less incentive to upgrade. Inspite of this iPhone 4S has apparently been a success. But is that more to do with people simply upgrading on their contracts? A bit of a different demographic with a tablet device wouldn't you think? iPad 4 for me in any caseGrain Bastard wrote:I'm excited as I have the original iPad and feel that an upgrade is now justified. Wasn't interested in the '2' and I think 'buy one, miss one' will be a sensible approach to tablet computing. I will also be keeping my existing one as it is still very capable and useful.
This sort of idea was speculated for iPad 2. Many thought that there might be 2 versions of different sizes. It's possible I suppose. Maybe Apple could end up marketing the iPad more like their Mac Book range with an entry level machine & more powerful Pro version. But that seems to be a big change from the current direction where all versions have the same guts just with different size storage & the option of 3G networking. My prediction is that Apple will have two versions of the iPad 3, and it will be the iPad 'pro' that will have a higher price, faster quad CPU and maybe even the retina display. The standard version will be less spec'd but still retain the existing pricing model.
