22-27MB (private, commit) per instance when GUI is closed and 33-39MB when it is open. Pretty good, although still not as good as Zebra. Anyway the most important thing is that 2.0 memory problem is not repaired. I have the impression that Z3TA+ 1 was abt. 30-35 when GUI either open or closed.

CPU hit seemed to be much bigger than with V1. 10 instances screwed up my testmachine totally (Core2Duo T5500 1.6Ghz) no chance to run so many, although the machine is badly outdated.

Don't you mean, "Anyway the most important thing is that 2.0 memory problem 'IS' repaired?" From what I understand, things are much better memory-wise in the new 2.1 version... I could be wrong--just asking....

I figured that was what you meant, but I wanted to be sure, in case I was missing the meaning. :-)

Is there any way to make Z3TA 2.1 to sound *exactly* the same as Z3TA+ 1.5...?

Now there is a slight difference, when I save patch from 1.5 and load in 2.1 it does not sound exactly the same. The difference is very small, subtle but big enough to ruin my mix.

I would really want to unload every single z3ta 1.5 from all of my projects because it makes Live crash very often and 2.1 seems to be much more stable.

Tried to play with real time quality and precision but until now didnt find anything that equals z3ta 1.5 default quality (draft) ...

Post

Try adjusting the chorus sync and depth. For whatever reason, on some original z3ta+ programs this can sound different even though the setting are the same. Im not sure if its a bug or just difference in architecture between the 2 synths.

On some programs you may find turning off the sync in Chorus does the trick if activated. In others it may be to leave the sync on and adjusting the depth - usually in reduction.

Hope this helps!

It has to be different. The sound difference to me is stunning. 1.5 is smoothe and 'wooly' would be the word I hear around hear. 2.1 is harsh and digital. But, God knows I love it, and it's usually in everything I do.

Is anybody else still getting Arpeggiator issues with 2.1?

I'm using Cubase 4 and the arps won't work unless Cubase is playing. I also sometimes get weird note dropouts where I hit a note and nothing happens.

Odd.

Post

It is still very weird here.
Saving all the presets to vstpresets in Cubase 6 for easier browsing doesn't work since it doesn't recognize the vst when browsing presets afterwards :(

Same thing happens in Studio 1 v2.

So you are doomed to use that annoying built in preset handling.
Now i have to use the sustain pedal for browsing presets 1 by 1 where i could use my up/down key in version 1.5.

Odd.
Have you tried to enable the last option that show up under options arpeggiator?
That should fix it.

Nope, i'll gave that a try. Thanks :)

tehlord, it's been my experience the arps don't won't unless the DAW is playing. It needs midi notes in, right? I don't think there's a Hold button.

Audio examples? I don't find any stunning difference in sound between 1.5 and 2.1

No synth will make any sound unless it receives some kind of notes.....The Arp presets play perfectly when using a Midi Controller and the DAW is not running.....

Anyone having problems getting the product? The download link for zeta 2 never worked in my account. They sent me a link for the first version but have been ignoring my request for version 2.1 since the day of release.
