This is why I love Diva:
The sounds!
The modular nature of it (accessible even to dense me)
The playability!
The GUI! (every VST should be resizable!)
What it emulates (exactly what I was looking for)
The patch browser!
The developer!

Zebra is the only plug in i have on my list that i have to buy.
everything else i can do without.
Urs is an amazing developer and very generous too. I still play with his cm
creation.
Maybe it is something different. If not, it looks amazing..

Of course I like some features of other synths (like the way you assign modulations in Massive) or workflow adjustments .. like right click--modulate with... (Omnishpere.. Alchemy? )
I've tried a bunch of cool soft synths, but I'm sticking with u-he Zebra atm!
After you get used to it, there are few synths out there that can compare with it's versatility+sound quality combo + the workflow is very good also (yeah, some small things here and there that I would want to see implemented but still)
As I'm always happy to try something else or new, but rarely putting something on my wishlist.

I have ZebraCM, obviously there is a big difference from the full version, but can someone explain that to me? I'm not in the market to buy more plugs for a long while now, but still I want to know what I'm missing
all the free synths from u-he are great. I need to explore Zebralette more.

2 osc - noise - vcfScottZ wrote:like 6 posts down urs gives short explanation for zebracm

2 x adsr, 3 x lfo
reverb/modfx/delay
All modules are identical with corresponding ones in Zebra2, just no waveform editing (16 fixed waveforms with smooth transitions instead) and predefined OscFX ("Symmetry" for PWM and "Filter" for osc timbre control). The VCF module is the good old one as known from Zebra 1.0 - 2.0, nineteen different types.
So it's pretty much Zebra 1.0 with minor enhancements here and there, such as IntelMac compatibility and a new user interface.

(thanks ScottZ!) I have to dig into ZebraCM more!

Not that familiar with Zebra CM, but just by looking at the GUI image, I can tell that it's basically 2 oscs, one VCF, very little modulation possibilities (depending for what you are using it that may be enough)braj wrote:I have ZebraCM, obviously there is a big difference from the full version, but can someone explain that to me? What I find missing from Zebra CM and what Zebra offers is:
Basic VA architecture VS semi-modular one
Many extra modules (Comb, FMOs, XMF to name a few)
Modulation matrix (menu displays only the parameters of enabled modules)
Extra envelope options for expressiveness
More effects
Routing options other small stuff
Arp?
Extra modulation sources like MMap (very useful)
XY performance pads (using them more and more to modify many parameters at once)
OSC wave manipulation and it's settings (Zebralette has them but I don't see them in Zebra CM)
