Five position rotary switch with off, a little boost, what they call blues boost, rock boost (typical distortion) and hi-gain which is serious overkill. They each have a global trim pot which is very useful, but the hi-gain is still too much for me. I also have one in my Daion because it requires no body modification, I typically use the boost and the blues boost the most unless it's off. (FWIW I also have an Artec BCU active tone control in the Daion in place of the last tone control)

Just wait until I put P-rails in my baritone

I'm keeping an eye on a Squier Tele Custom BK for some time (a different league, I know), although I'm not a proper guitarrist (haven't really played in the last 20 years or so), and about to decide, for a start, to just "rebuild" my old Peavey Raptor in order to see if I still have some guitar skills left.

John, I posted that Fender i noticed to yourself and Paul as it was a Tele and a Baritone, I know out of the one you have and Paul's blacktop 2xHB model which two of the three i would prefer, It was just good to see something by Fender which is not the same old thing/a step in the right direction as I said my friend. I do not know why on earth anyone would want single coil pickups

let alone a brace of the things in the middle/neck position of a baritone

Plus of the three colours i could only maybe live with the silver/grey one and again i would have to rip out those no good sincle coil things for a real pickup which would mean the price of it and then a new black plate for a humbucker and then the two humbuckers I would like instead of the stock model. That would be make no sense cost wise at all. I think they should of done a 2xHB model finished in black considering the range is called 'Blacktop'

Still again it was just one i knew you would be intrested in one way or the other.

So after picking up the Washburn Dimebag ML-type Dimebolt 333 sig model (it is a good playing and sounding guitar, Not one to even try to play whilst sat down though!

) what is next here? Well its not a new guitar but one of the Jackson Dinky DK2 models i have which is still in "stock" condition is going to get a sick new neck via Warmoth. Its twin has a pair of Bare Knuckle Warpig humbuckers in it and some mods to the electronics switching. So as I am really enjoying the Schecter DamianFR 27.5" 7-String Baritone with an EMG707 at the bridge I picked up awhile ago, You might think me being me would go for an 8-String right? Well nah not yet anyway. So with that said the DK2 is going to have a 29" scale-length non-reverse 6-a-Side Jackson headstock, Quarter sawn hard rock Maple neck, Ibanez Wizard II or old pre-FMIC Jackson neck profile. Still not totally decided on what to go for wood wise for the fretboard, Maple is looking good/Sounding right for this beast of a neck. It will have 24 nice big jumbo or extra jumbo frets and none of this binding rubbish. Pickup wise it has EMGs in it but that might change. It will be basically an 8-string setup/string wise from low to high and i will just do without the extra two high strings

I have not done a full spec or been in-touch with Warmoth yet as first I am currently saving up for a powerful audio PC/DAW dedicated machine. After i have that then i will be going for this project.

I was in my local the other day and picked up a few different guitars, One of them really stood out for the price, It was an Ibanez RG for around £325/£350 which had an excellent neck, I also had a blast on some of the GIO Ibby's and the necks on those have gotten really good also. At last got a chance to have a proper look (but not try as i am saving it for another time) at Laney's new IronHeart Head/4x12" Cab...The head is £620 and build quality looks really good. One of the biggest transformers i have seen

and like the head the Cab which was the non-angled base one was no balsa wood crappo. So really can not wait to try it in depth

Also saw the tiny Marshall 1-Watt heads and combos, Must try those out and also an all-valve 18-watter micro head by Hughes & Kettner, I can not remember the name but i want to try that out also, It looks like a mini/micro H&K Tri-Amp but with less controls (obviously) incase anyone knows what model it is/it is called, Will also take alook at H&K's website anyway

i am having my mom's 1965-ish Hofner 'strat' re-surfaced and custom painted..!

I think we are going with a sun-burst fade from black to white then black plate and white knobs..!

it was badly in need of work - unplayable in fact.. but, my good friend has an airbrush and all of the knowledge..

on a side note - he is worried that he can't find a generic replacement for the tuning peg handles - just the plastic bits - anyone here know how i could find the originals online?

Mine isn't an actual Fender, it's a Japanese knock-off from the 70's and is fitted with those Ibanez PowerSound pickups of that era. It's an amazingly bright, spanky guitar for having chrome covered humbuckers.

Yeah, I was really surprised at how ripping that JTM is. I don't remember a real JTM sounding like that but I also don't remember ever getting to crank one loud enough to get it to sound like that.

The JCM sounds less cool to me in the video. Not bad by any stretch, just not as rip roaring as the JTM.

Yep admittedly it does sound like an 80's thrash-Style tight and abit scooped (Edit: Sorry i mean't 'Contoured' to speak in Marshall terms) than a JCM800 does, So its possible that they have voiced them as proper plug and play amps for what got them their reputations? The JTM has a fuller rawer crunch which is mean! I have not ever played a JTM myself so can not comment but shall certaintly take your word on that. Hink you could get that Plexi back except it won't be as big and work better in your setup mate

Reckon that JTM will sound good with different flavours of overdrive/boost pedals before it...1-Watt is winning so far Eric, Will have to be rather swift on each model though (if i like them enough) to buy as they are not making each for the whole year (dicks, They should make them all for the whole year IMO) but its not that big a problem
